Pretty girl, pretty girl, pretty girl
You should be smiling (you should be smiling)
A girl like you should never look so blue (blue)
You're everything I see in my dreams
I wouldn't say that to you if it wasn't true (true)

"Just a few more steps, Lovey. We're almost there"

"Angel, you know I love you and trust you, but you know how much anxiety your surprises give me, especially when you cover my eyes and make me walk around blindly"

"Princess, relax. At least I didn't make you go down the stairs with your eyes closed. I promise I will invest on a blindfold for next time, that way my hands will be free, and I can carry you to the surprise", Y/N tells me, easily dismissing my grumpy mood and successfully making me laugh before we come to a stop. "Alright. You see? We made it before you could even finish whining to me. And now, for the grand reveal. Open your eyes, Lovey", Y/N teases me before moving her hands off my eyes. I blink repeatedly to try and adjust to the light change before looking ahead and gasping in surprise.

"Honey...this is...so beautiful", I let out weakly, my hand covering my mouth as deep emotions bubble inside me. I take slow steps closer to the fireplace in the middle of our living room before reaching upwards and tracing my fingers over the now colored drawings that Maisie has done of Y/N and I over the years.

First, on the left, is the drawing of Y/N inside the London Tube, giving her dorky air instruments concert. The drawing that caused us to meet and which she surrendered to me after I refused to give it back. If the drawing was amazing when it was just pencil traces, now that it has colors, it not only shows how talented Maisie truly is, but also how gorgeous my wife has always been.

On the right is the drawing of us during our very first date at Wimbledon Park. I hadn't seen it before today; Y/N mentioned she planned to give it to me as a gift for our first anniversary as girlfriends. I was so stupid for choosing to miss out on such a special moment and gift from her, but now that we're married, it just means so much to me to see it and have it displayed in our forever home.

Finally, front and center, you can see the painting of our first dance during our wedding. I can't believe how magical the whole scene looks and how Maisie managed to capture every single detail about that moment. The flowers, the lights, Y/N and I's wedding gowns, my new earrings and Y/N's watch, and our enamored expressions. Even our wedding rings can be seen shining proudly in our fingers. Everything about it just transports me back to that early Sunday morning where my Angel and I finally tied the knot and became one.

"Did you like the surprise, Princess?", I hear my wife ask me softly as she wraps her arms around my waist from behind me and leans her head against mine.

"Like it? Angel, this is...incredible. How did you do this?!", I exclaim, still in shock, before turning around in my wife's embrace, to which Y/N just chuckles thanks to my reaction.

"Well, I didn't do shit. Maisie did all the work. When I asked her to do the painting of our first dance, I also asked her if she could replicate her other two drawings in canvases of the same size and paint them, that way they could match the wedding painting, and we could have them displayed here at the house. After Maisie confirmed she could, she got to work and sent the new paintings over. I just paid her for her work and hung the canvases on the wall", Y/N explains to me the logistics of her plan, making us laugh thanks to her honesty before I look back at the paintings and admire them in silence.
