Eira woke up early the next morning, the sun was just coming up and the ground was damp. She sat up and saw loki was still sitting in the same place he was the night before. "Wow, I've never seen the sunrise before" she said, stretching and rubbing the sleep out of her eyes. "Beautiful isn't it?" Loki said turning to look at her "Breathtaking" she said smiling and taking the tie out of her hair. It had been in a ponytail since the first day and was tarting to look rather messy. "Sorry I woke you up last night" she said as she ran her fingers through her hair to untangle it as best she could. "That's.... Um.....Quite alright" he said in a tired tone. "I have a little bit of food left and then we can get going. We should be able to get you home by tonight" he told her. She was overly excited and couldn't help but smile in a way that made loki smile too. They both ate what little food they had left "Can we go now?" She asked with an energetic voice "Just hold on a sec, let me put my boots back on" he said chuckling at her eagerness. Very soon they were on their way. All Eira could think abut was getting home. All loki could think about was the fact the he could never go home, all of a sudden being a villain seemed much easier to him.
"What about you? What will you do?" Eira asked, she hadn't really given a thought to loki until now. "I'm not really sure" he shrugged "Will you go home?" She asked "No, I can't go home now" he replied "Why not? They forgave you for so much already, why not this?" He was a little annoyed by her continuously asking questions about him "If I go home now I'll have to tell them where you are, which would make this whole trip pointless" he said shortly.
They walked in silence for a few minutes "Where exactly do you live?" He asked her, he knew how to get back to the palace, but he had no idea where she lived "Oh, I live in a small village a short distance from the main city" she told him "I'm pretty much the only one there though" she told him.
"Well where is everyone else?" He asked
"I don't know, there are houses, but no one lives in any of them" she said back. She then started chuckling slightly.
"What's so funny?" He asked her.
"I'm sorry, I was just thinking about when I was little. For fun I would pretend I was the queen, I'd imagine I was in a crowd of people who loved and adored me and I was the ruler of the realm. That was what I would do when I had control" she said while laughing at herself, but loki was heartbroken for her. His whole life he'd been living in a place with people who loved him, but he wanted more, he wanted the throne, he wanted to be king. And here she was, perfectly happy living alone and only pretending to have a home.
"And when you didn't have control?" He asked. Her whole expression changed, she looked like she was remembering a nightmare.
"When I didn't have control it was like something else took me over. I couldn't think straight, I did things I didn't want to do,that's why I found a cure" she told him. They walked on for a while, neither of them saying anything, or even wanting to look at each other
