It had been three months since they were warned about the threat against Eira, but nothing had happened, and they guessed it was just a bluff.
Eira sat reading under a tree in the garden, it was a nice day, and she was glad she didn't have to stress about anything, which was pretty new for her. loki was on Nidavellir, getting new weapons from the dwarves. he had been gone for about three weeks now, he was going to be back in a week and Eira was counting down the days.
"Good morning Eira" she heard Brynjar's voice from behind her, she would like him if he wasn't such a pest. he was attractive, he had dark brown hair and green eyes, he was tall and strong, but not to intimidating.
"Hello" Eira said back trying to sound polite, but her irritation coming out. He sat next to her.
"What are you reading?" He asked her, she moved to put a little more space between them, but he just moved along with her, she stood up.
"I'm actually finished" she said starting to turn away, he stood up with her and gently grabbed her arm and turned her to face him.
"Where's Loki?" He asked pulling her a little closer to him.
"He's- he's on Nidavellir, getting the weapons we ordered" she told him trying to back away, but he held on to her arm a bit tighter.
"Well then I have one less thing to worry about" he said with a smile. She instantly regretted telling him that Loki was away "Let go of me" she said, getting both angry and slightly afraid. He chuckled a little bit.
"Why would I do that?" He said stepping closer to her. With her free hand she hit him in the chest with ice, he let her go and stumbled back a little bit.
"Don't come near me again" she told him. He smiled.
"I always loved a woman who could fight" he said with a grin, as he stepped back to her and grabbed her shoulders, pushing her against a tree.
"Thor!" She shouted, but he was quick to cover her mouth.
"Be quiet" he hissed, she was struggling to get away, but his grip on her only tightened.
"I always thought you were so beautiful, I tried to tell you that a long time ago when we danced" he told her, taking his hand from her mouth.
"And I always thought you were so shallow, I thought I made that pretty clear when left you in the middle of that dance" she snapped back. "I didn't think you remembered that night" he said smiling.
"Of course I do, that was the night I realized I was in love with Loki" she said to him, his face grew angry and she could see it, she called for Thor again before his hand went back over her mouth.
"Get away from her!" Thor's voice sounded behind Brynjar, his hand slammed down on his shoulder and pulled him away from Eira.
"This doesn't concern you, prince" Brynjar hissed at Thor.
"She's my brothers wife, which makes her my sister, which makes you harming her my concern" Thor said, stepping between him and Eira.
"This is between me and the lady" Brynjar said.
"The only thing between you and the lady is me, if you want her you're going to have to go trough me" Thor told him as mjölnir flew to his hand.
"Now leave my home, and don't ever show your face here again" he told him, Brynjar stared at him for a moment before walking past Thor.
"You'll be mine one day, I promise you that" he said, turning to Eira as he walked away. After he left, Thor came over to Eira.
"Are you alright?" He asked hugging her. She was shaking and all she could do was nod
"Did he hurt you?" he asked, she shook her head.
"No" she said pulling away. "Something is wrong with him!" She shouted, tears filling her eyes as her breathing grew harder.
"He won't be coming back, I promise. I'll have him banned from ever coming back here" Thor told her, trying to calm her down. She covered her face with her hands, trying not to think about what would have happened if Thor hadn't shown up, he pulled her into a comforting hug. "Come on, I'll take you inside" Thor offered, she nodded and followed him inside. She couldn't stop thinking about it for the rest of the day, she kept feeling his grip on her shoulders, the feeling of being defenseless, and the look in his eyes when he told her that she would be his one day. That part kept playing over and over in her mind, and she kept trying to shut it out, she now only wished Loki would hurry up and get back
