Loki stood there in shock, unable to think of anything to say and finding it impossible for a sound to escape his mouth, he was trying to tell her how he felt, but all he could do was stare with wide eyes.
"Are you not pleased?" Eira asked, her heart sinking at the thought of him not wanting a child. "No- I mean yes, I'm- how- when did-" he stuttered trying to think of words.
"Eira, I can't believe it" he finally said, with a bright smile and slight heavy breathing, she giggled at his inability to speak. He picked her up in a hug and swung her around, after setting her back down, he covered her face with kisses, both Of them laughing and smiling.
"How did this happen?" He asked in between kisses.
"Oh please tell my one of your parents gave you this talk" she said a bit sarcastically, he chuckled, realizing how his question did not come out right.
"No no, that's not what I meant at all, I just meant- we just won a war less than a month ago" he clarified "how long have you been pregnant?" He asked.
"Only a few weeks" she told him. He didn't really care, he just held her tightly. "Do you know what it is?" He asked, a little eager to find out.
"No, it's too early to tell" she told him. "But promise me you'll love it no matter what gender it is" she said, with a hint of concern in her tone. "Oh darling, of course I will love him or her, no matter what" he said, a bit sad that that was even a concern of hers. Both of them were eager to tell everyone about it, and in only a few days the word spread and it seemed that everyone in Asgard knew about it, and everyone was congratulating them. Loki hadn't felt this happy and excited for a long time, since Eira said she would marry him. He was so overwhelmed with joy that it was next to impossible to make him unhappy, which was a rare occasion for him, normally he had a very quick temper, but now it seems that he don't have a temper at all. Him and Eira were always joking around, laughing, and smiling, everything just seemed right, and both of them forgot about Embrey, or Eira's nightmares about the frost giants. "Eira, may I speak with you for a few minutes"
"Eira, may I speak with you for a few minutes" Thor asked walking toward her.
"Yes, of course" she said with a
Smile, before realizing that he looked a little serious and didn't have a light mood about him.
"Is something wrong?" She asked, he had that look of something being not quite right, and the last thing she wanted right now was for there to be a threat or problem with asgard.
"No. I only wanted to thank you" he said "For what?" She didn't really know what he meant, she hadn't done anything lately that deserved thanks.
"For being part of our lives, for being with loki, I've never seen him so happy before, and I don't know what you did, but you were able to break down the walls he's put up to keep people out, something I've been trying to do for a long time" he told her, she gave a sad smile at the thought of loki being so disconnected from his family.
"I didn't do anything, and I didn't break down his walls. But I think that's the problem with you and your father, you've been trying so hard to break down his walls, when all you've ever had to do was check to see if the door was open" she told him "you try to break down his walls and he just keeps making them stronger, but if you wait, and you make him know that you're there for him, he'll open the door and let you in" she continued. Thor looked at her in slight confusion.
"We've been trying-" he was cut off by her."And that's the problem. Stop trying, treat him like everyone else, there's nothing wrong with him, he's just different, but when people keep trying to change his differences, to make him 'normal' he just feels like he's alone, like no one excepts him for who he is, and that's when he shuts you out" she told him feeling a bit more bold. "And especially now that he knows he's a jontun, he feels even more different than he did before. If you, and Your father, and anyone else want to get through to him, just simply stop acting like he's different, stop telling him he needs to let you in, because that's what makes him shut you out" she told him. He nodded, taking her words to heart. "Lady Eira, you truly are a remarkable young woman, and I feel greatly honored to be able to call you part of my family" Thor told her, she smiled Right before hearing Brynjar call her name, she rolled eyes, finding him to be somewhat of a pest lately.
"Excuse me, I need to find a hiding place" she said jokingly as she walked away.
