Loki was getting ready to go meet with the jotun leader, he felt a little nervous and wasn't really sure why, he knew nothing could happen, it was an organized meeting. Thor and Eira were both in the room with him, so he was trying to hide any sign of anxiety.
"Are you alright?" Eira finally asked, they could both tell something was wrong, but neither wanted to say anything.
"I'm fine" he said back. Eira shot a look to Thor and he left them alone.
"Eira, I said I'm fine" he told her, knowing she was about to try to get him to tell her.
"You don't look fine, you look really nervous" she said "so just tell me whats wrong" she added, trying to sound as demanding as she could. Loki sighed and turned around to look at her.
"What if it doesn't work?" He said, he wasn't really sure himself what was wrong with him, but that was something on his mind.
"We figure something else out. Loki, you took on the avengers, you died twice, you were able to save Thor from the dark elves, you smuggled me out of prison, you defeated the army of Muspelhiem, and you escaped jotunhiem with a broken ankle and an arrow through your heart. this army isn't going to be able to stop you" she said, he smiled at her making a list of things he'd done, but still felt uneasy.
"Thank you" he said kissing her cheek. "But Thor and I have to get going" he continued. He went outside and found Thor, and the two of them went to meet with Savas (the jotun leader).
"Why have you requested this meeting?" Savas asked.
"I don't see an end to this war" loki replied. "Our armies are both strong and unyielding, neither of us will surrender to the other, and the only end is going to be when everyone on both sides is laying on the ground dead" he continued.
"And you have a solution?" Savas asked.
"I think I have a solution that will please us both" loki told him.
"What could asgard and jotunhiem both want?" Savas scoffed.
"How about peace. we end this here, there's no reason asgard and jotunhiem can't get along. I have a proposition for you" loki said
he could tell he was getting his attention and striking his curiosity.
"You leave asgard, take your army and leave, promising never to return" he started. "And in exchange, you have the security of asgard. Should a realm or people start an attack jotunhiem, asgard will step in to defend you" he continued, the Savas looked at him for a moment, a little confused, in the moment of silence loki cold hear talking from outside, they were talking about a plan.
'Idiots, they expect to keep a secret' he thought.
"No one has ever tried to unite asgard and jotunhiem" Savas said, loki smirked.
"Well I like to do things differently. No frost giant has ever been king of asgard, and yet here I am, in line for the throne" he said with a look of mischievous pride. "Look, there's not going to be a winner to this war, and there's no point in keeping this hatred going, you leave asgard, we help you if you need it, other then that we can just stay out of each other's way" he further explained. "Where Eira?" The Savas asked, loki was tweaked by him asking, but tried not to show it.
"She's with the rest of our army" loki told him, Savas smiled and loki tried not to show his anger.
"I'd love to see her again" he said, and loki was just trying not to attack him now.
"Do you find my proposition expectable?" Loki asked, ignoring the remarks about Eira.
"I have no desire to make peace with asgard" he replied shortly.
"Jotunhiem isn't-" loki started but was cut off.
"The only reason you wish to end this is because you know asgard won't win. We will not leave asgard" he told loki, a wicked grin spread across his face. "Unless you give Eira back to us" he said, loki could feel his face getting hot with anger.
"That's the only way I'll withdraw our army" he continued "Then I'll see you on the battlefield" loki said as he stood up and him and Thor left.
"Are you alright?" Thor asked, when they put enough space between them and the jotuns, he could see loki was overflowing with rage.
"When we get back, tell our men to prepare for another battle, they're planing to attack us tonight" loki said, ignoring Thor's question.
"How do you know that?" Thor asked.
"You couldn't hear those men talking? They were practically shouting" loki said. "You didn't say a word the whole time!" He yelled, thinking Thor could've helped.
"You where handling yourself and the situation very well, I didn't need to say anything" Thor said back.
"But he didn't except" loki said, still a little irritated at the lack of Thor's involvement.
"If you couldn't talk him into it there nothing I could've done" Thor said, a hint of humor in his tone. "And the proposition was reasonable, there's no reason he didn't except other then that he just didn't want peace, nothing could've made him except" he told him. They kept walking until they got back, loki was still mad, but not at Thor. "How did it go, did they except?" Fandral asked when they got back, loki just brushed right past him.
"No, they didn't" Thor said.
"What? Why? How could they not, it was a perfect proposition" Fandral said back, a little shocked.
"I don't know, he said he didn't want to make peace" Thor replied.
Loki stormed back to the meeting room, hoping to be alone, but saw Eira, sif, and two other female warriors he didn't know all there. He instantly turned to leave but heard Eira call after him, he just ignored her though.
"Loki wait" she said following him out.
"Darling, I love you, but please don't insist on talking to me right now" he said a little harshly, she nodded.
"Let me know if you want to talk" she said and turned to leave. "Wait, Eira, I'm sorry" he said, she turned around again.
"It's okay if you don't want to talk now" she said kindly.
"I'm just mad" he said, leaning against the wall.
"I know. We all are" she said, standing next to him. There was a short moment Of silence before loki spoke again.
"They're attacking tonight, they'll think we're sleeping, but I need you and Thor to tell everyone to be prepared" he said standing back up. "Of course. Is there anything else you need me to do?" She asked.
"No that's- wait yes, one more thing" he said.
"What?" She asked, he stepped closer to her, put his hands on her cheeks and kissed her lips. "Alright, that's it" he said as he pulled away. She smiled a little before she left to go warn the others.
