"How are you feeling?" Loki asked Eira after walking into their room and seeing Eira up and dressed, it had been a few days and she was finally getting better.
"I'm feeling wonderful actually, I think I'm finally over whatever happened" she told him.
"How about you and I go out for a little walk? You could use the fresh air" he suggested, he knew she love to walk in the meadows and he wanted to do something with her after not being able to for so long. They went out and were able to just enjoy each others company for a while, they found a spot near some trees and they sat down for a few minutes.
"Did you hear that?" He said, she looked at him.
"Yeah, I heard it too" she said, they both heard leaves crunching from the side of the trees, loki stood up and helped Eira to her feet. Before either of them could do anything, a young man came out from behind the trees, he was a frost giant, but he was pretty young, probably about the same age a loki.
"I'm so sorry, I didn't want to. you can take me just please don't kill me" he said quickly, loki and Eira were both confused, they didn't know who he was, why he was on asgard, or why he was apologizing.
"Who are you?" Loki asked "what did you do?" He continued.
"I tried to poison her" he said, gesturing to Eira. Loki came closer to him and he jerked up in a panic.
"Hey, calm down, we just want to talk" loki said.
"What's your name?" Loki asked, trying to ease the tension "Leif" he said, loki reached out his hand, he figured the best way to get him to talk was to be friendly, especially because he didn't really look like a real threat
"I'm loki" he said, Leif looked at his hand 'is he asking to shake hands with me?' He thought to himself.
"I'm a frost giant, you don't want to touch me" he told him, assuming loki somehow missed that part.
"So am I" loki said, his hand still extended, Leif took it and they shook hands.
"You're turning yourself in?" Eira said, a little confused why someone who tried to murder her would then come and surrender.
"I'd rather go to prison than forget" he told them.
"Forget what?" Loki asked
"Everything, I'll forget who I am" he told loki. "I was told to kill her, but I failed so he'll make me forget" Leif said.
"Who do you work for?" Loki asked.
"they never told me his name, he's a frost giant, I have met him, but other than that I really don't know. He just told me to get the poison to Eira so I did" he told them. "But I didn't want to I swear, they made me, if I didn't I would've been tortured, they would've taken my mind like they've done to the others" he continued.
"What do you mean? How would they take your mind?" Loki asked, trying to calm him down.
"I've seen them do it, they take people, twist their minds to make them think they're someone else so they'll do their bidding, once they take you there's no way out, you think you're on their side" he told loki.
"They control you?" Loki asked, trying to make sense of it all. Leif shook his head.
"They don't need to, they put ideas in your mind, they make you think that you /want/ to do it" loki was starting to understand, and he couldn't help but feel sorry for Leif, he wouldn't want to have someone play with his mind either, and being someone who has done that to people and regretted it, made him have an even stronger aversion to it.
"I would like to be able to let you go, but you still did try to murder someone, and I'm afraid that can't go unpunished" loki told him, Leif almost looked relieved, like confessing put his mind at ease, he clearly wasn't criminal materiel. Loki called the guards and had him sent to the prisons. Thor was also there to hear his confession, and he was able to talk Odin into only holding him there for a short time, maybe only a few years. he couldn't help but see a little bit of loki in Leif, doing something and then regretting it is horrible. After he and loki had taken care of everything and locked up Leif, loki found Eira again, she was scared and so was he, none of them could figure out why Eira was a target for the jotuns. After a short silence loki finally spoke. (Cont)"And how's our baby?" He said in an attempt to clear the air.
"She's fine" Eira said smiling. right after she said it she put her hand over her mouth, loki looked up at her.
"She?" He said with a little smirk. "I wanted it to be a surprise, but yes, it's a girl" she told him.
"We have to think of a name then" he told her.
"I already thought of one, but I don't know if you'll want it" she said a little hesitantly.
"What is it?" He asked.
"I wanted to call her Frigga, after your mother" she told him, his smile became smaller at the mention of his mothers name, but he was able to find it again.
"I think that's perfect" he said, trying to hold back his emotion, which always got the best of him when someone mentioned Frigga.
"It's okay to miss your mother" she told him, seeing him trying not to show how sad he was.
"I know" he said as he nodded "but I can't always break down at the mention of her name, what's done is done, and I need I be able to move on" he said, she gave a sad smile
Before jerking back slightly.
"What's wrong?" He asked, she giggled a little.
"Feel it" she said taking his hand and putting it on her stomach.
"She's kicking" she told him, he smirked. Even with all that was going on, he was able to smile at the thought of having a daughter.
