She ran back to their chambers, her heart pounding, She started pacing across the room trying to make sense of what the man said to her, she was anxious and jumpy, she stopped pacing and stood with her hands against the windowsill trying to calm down, she felt someone grab her from behind, startled, she quickly turned around and shot their face with ice.
"Whoa! Calm down!" Loki said, his face turning jotun blue from getting hit with ice.
"Loki" she said panting for breath "I'm so sorry, I didn't see it was you" she said "I guess I should be more careful when I try to hug you" he laughed, she didn't respond to his joke.
"You alright?" He asked putting his hands on her shoulders "I talked to Gollum" she said nervously .
"Who's gollum?" He asked a bit confused .
"Sorry, he's the guy who tried to kill me, he wouldn't tell me his name so I call him gollum" she said realizing loki had no way of knowing what 'gollum' meant
"Why do you call him 'Gollum'? He asked "And why did you talk to him?!" He continued a little more sternly.
"Gollum is a character in a book I- does it really matter?! I just call him that. And I went to talk to him because I wanted to know why he tried to kill me" she told him as if what she did was reasonable.
"He could've hurt you!" Loki said to her.
"Loki, I'm fine, I know it was stupid but I did it" she said realizing she had been foolish.
"Did he hurt you?" He asked.
"No, he just said a few things that got into my head" she said "but I'm sure none of it was true, he's gone seriously insane" she continued "Do you want to talk abou-" loki couldn't finish his sentence. Thor entered the room.
"Loki, I need your help" he said seriously.
"What's wrong?" Loki asked.
"We've discovered a spy in asgard" Thor told him "and he said he will only talk to you and Eira" loki, Eira, and Thor all walked down a long hall and entered a medium sized room with a table mounted to the ground in the center. The spy was sitting at the table and his ankles were shackled to the ground.
"Why are you here? What are you trying to find? "
loki asked sitting down with Eira.
"I'm trying to fulfill the prophecy" he said. Loki rolled his eyes.
"Well unless your little prophecy says 'an idiot is going to unsuccessfully try to infiltrate asgard' than I'd say it's a fake, just like all the other millions of prophecies out there" loki said sarcastically. He was used to people doing crazy things, even killing, in order to fulfill a prophecy, but none of them ever turned out to be true.
"Don't I know you?" Eira broke in, she knew she had seen him before.
"You're a clever one" he said "yes, we have met" he told her .
"Where?" She asked, she couldn't remember where they'd met, but she knew shed seen him before.
"It'll come to you" he said with a smirk
"Who sent you?" Loki asked. The mans eyes shifted to Eira.
"She knows. Don't you love?" He said mockingly "I have no idea what you're talking about" she said breathing hard "So maybe your not so clever. Maybe this will help" he said staring her in the eyes "The fire comes and melts the ice, she runs, she cries, but she cannot hide" he quoted, looking at Eira, she started to breath harder "Stop" Eira said sternly. Loki had no clue what was happening
"You remember it" e said calmly, but then jerked forward, slamming his hands on the table. "you keep trying to shut her out but you can't!" He screamed back at her. Eira jumped back, startled by him "Stop! Please!" She screamed. "Eira, look at me, everything's alright" loki told her trying to calm her down
"She's coming for you, she will catch you, she'll torture you until you wish you were dead, and then after everyone you love is dead, she'll grant your wish! You can't escape her!" he sneered at her, leaning forward and grabbing her throat, causing the pain of Her past to fill her again, she let out a scream of pain
"That's enough!" Loki shouted, ripping Eira out of his grip, he pulled out a knife and sliced off the hand the man had been gripping Eira with. she fell to the floor, shaking and sobbing loudly, loki came over to her. He picked her her up, and brought her back outside the room.
"Thor!" He called his brother was soon there.Take her to our chambers, she needs to rest" loki said giving Eira over to Thor. Loki came back into the room and knocked the man across the face with his fist "If you even think about hurting my wife again you will spend the rest of your short life regretting it!. I don't know what your game is, but it ends here!" Loki shouted in the mans face. "You can torture me, you can kill me, you can do anything you want with me, but that won't change the fact that your wife will suffer" the man sneered at loki. Loki slammed the man's head down on the table.
"Guard your tongue if you wish to keep it!" He hissed at him. He knocked the man's head against the table again, causing him to fall unconscious. He went back to his chambers and saw Eira curled up on the bed sobbing, and Thor sitting next to her trying to comfort her. Loki came over to them. "Is she alright?" He asked, Thor looked at him and stood up. "I don't know, but I'll leave you to take care of her" he said and left the room. Loki sat down on the bed next to Eira, he pulled her up close to him and held her tightly.
"She's coming for me" she sobbed into his chest
"Shhh" he whispered, rubbing circles in her back.
"Why can't she leave me alone?" Eira said through her tears.
"This is your sister, isn't it?" He asked.
"Embrey" she said "that's what Gollum was talking about too, but he didn't use magic on me" she said, stopping her tears.
"He's just messing with your head" loki told her pulling her away. "She can't hurt you, I won't let her" he told her. She nodded trying to believe it. He sat behind her and wrapped his arms around her waist.
"I won't let her hurt you" he whispered, kissing her neck.
"I know you won't" she sighed, feeling safe in lokis arms
