It had been three days since Loki's encounter with the frost giant, he still hadn't told anyone and didn't know If he should. finally he couldn't stand it anymore, he had to tell someone, he figured that if he was going to share it with someone, it should be his father. he found him standing outside, watching Thor and the others train.
"Father, may I have a word with you?" He asked. Odin turned his attention to Loki and was ready to listen.
"Alone" Loki added, Odin nodded and The two of them walked to the meeting room where they could speak in private.
"What troubles you?" Odin asked as they both sat down.
"The night Eira and I stayed out a few days ago, something happened that I think you should know" he started to tell him about everything that happened, the storm, her passing out, everything except the fact that njördr was a jotun.
"He told her to sleep and she did?" Odin asked, Loki nodded.
"Was this man from Asgard?" Odin asked, Loki wanted to avoid telling him he was a frost giant if he could.
"No, he wasn't. Is that important?" He asked.
"you remember Lorelei, when she gave a man an order her words would become actions, it's possible that the man you spoke to shares this gift, if he was from Asgard than there's a chance she taught him, but since he isn't we have to assume he was born with it as she was." Odin told him, trying to make sense of the situation. "Where was he from? If we can find that out we can most likely find out who wants to take her" Odin said, Loki now knew there was no way around it.
"He was from Jotunhiem" he said, dreading the response he was about to receive.
Jotunhiem? Than what makes you think you can trust him?" Odin asked abruptly.
"Father, he warned me. Why would he do that if he couldn't be trusted?" He said, a bit annoyed that Odin didn't trust him.
"He's a frost giant, he's probably trying to distract you, they can't be trusted" Odin told him, standing up, Loki stood up too.
"Who cares where he comes from, father? He's telling us that someone is going to take Eira" Loki said, now getting frustrated with his father.
"I care. the intentions of a frost giant are never for the good, especially when dealing with Asgard." Odin said, raising his voice a bit.
"Not all Jotuns are evil-" Loki started but was cut off.
"Yes they are! Anyone born of Jotunhiem is-".
"Are you forgetting who you're talking too?" Loki asked, turning to his jotun form, Odin sighed, for a moment he had forgotten that Loki was also a jotun.
"Loki, you know that's not what I meant" Odin said, calming down a bit.
"I know. But what I'm saying is that /what/ you are doesn't have to be /who/ you are, I'm a jotun and you're going to make me king of Asgard. And Njördr, a frost giant, is trying to protect our future queen" Loki said calming down.
"Did he say when or why?" Odin asked, as a sign that he was willing to trust him.
"No, all he told me was that someone was going to take her, and then give her back, but I don't really know what that means" Loki told him, he nodded.
"Then we'll place extra protection on her, and keep her under close guard" he said.
"Thank you" Loki said as he headed out the door. "But please don't let her know, I don't want her to panic" he continued. He walked out the door and shut it behind him.
"So someone wants to take me?" Eira said right as the door shut after Loki left, she was standing right outside the door.
"How did you know?" Loki asked.
"I was eavesdropping" she said "well not really, I was looking for you to ask about a name for out child, and then I heard you and your dad yelling at each other, so I decided to listen" she told him, he shrugged a bit.
"Yes, someone is after you, again" he told her, she laughed a little bit.
"Well I sure know how to make enemies don't i?" She said jokingly, trying to lighten the mood, he chuckled a bit.
"I guess so" he said in the same joking manner that she did.
"But I don't want to be under guard all the time" she told him.
"Eira we-" he was cut off.
"We don't even know when he's coming for me, I'll be careful, but I don't want to spend a hundred years with guards constantly watching me" she told him in her 'there's no way you're going to win this argument' voice. He nodded in agreement, realizing she was right and he couldn't always have an eye on her, as much as he wished he could
