Chapter 10

Eira couldn't believe what loki just did, a thousand thoughts ran through her mind at once, she thought there had to be something else going on, he had to have some sort of plan. but then it happened; she hit the water,  she felt as though time was slowing down, she could feel the cold water surround her, she instinctively brought her hands up to her face to protect herself even though she knew it would do nothing, but as the water splashed up and hit her hand it froze, and the ice spread underneath her. Before she could even take in what was happening ice had spread across the entire river freezing it solid, the ice crashed against the bank of the river and and shot across the ground right next to it. Meanwhile loki was still on the bridge, he was trying to stop the soldiers but didn't want to have to kill them. He ran to the other side of the bridge to make it easier to fight. Before the actual fighting began he wanted to try to reason with them "Listen to me, that girl is innocent. Let me take her home and let that be the end of it, we don't have to hurt her, she's done nothing wrong, certainly nothing worth death" he tried to convince the soldiers, but they didn't listen to him "we have our orders, she's a fugitive, and so are you" one of them said as he drew his sword "Have it your way then" loki said. He snapped his fingers and all the soldiers fell to the ground. So did Loki, the magic he used took a lot of his energy, so he was exhausted after he used it. He then climbed down to the frozen river where Eira was still laying in shock. He walked over to her "Are you alright?" He asks as he held out a hand to help her up, she took his hand "what was that?" She asked as she looked around at the frozen river "I'm so sorry, but it was the only thing I could think of in a hurry. Are you okay?" He responded "yes I'm fine. Are you okay? You're the one who did all the fighting" she asked him with a look of concern, he laughed a little bit "it was hardly a fight, I cheated" he said with a wink. "Now let's get on with this, they're only unconscious" he said as he started to walk to the other side of the river and she followed close behind. She was anxious to get home
"How long will this take?" She asked him
"Only a few days" she didn't want to wait that long, she wanted to get home and get the cure so she could get rid of this curse
