"Loki" Eira said after loki had stopped tickling her.
"Yes my love?" He said with a smile.
"What happened while I was gone? I came back and you were- well you were clearly upset" she asked, sitting up, he sat up too, knowing it was going to be a long explanation.
"I was talking to my mother. But she wasn't really her, she was just an illusion" he told her, trying not to think about it too much.
"But why wouldn't that make you happy?" She asked, thinking seeing his mom would make him feel better. He sighed.
"Well, she was telling me it was my fault she died" he told her, feeling his emotions resurface. Eira was shocked.
"Why would your mother say that?" She asked, knowing it wasn't really Loki's fault.
"Because she's not real, she's my mind playing my own tricks on me. And whenever I think that things couldn't be better, I think about how things /could/ be better if she were here with us, and all my thoughts against myself come out in the form of my mother" He explained to her, she couldn't believe he had to live with that, how hard it must be for him to here all his thoughts against himself come from his own mother, who he loved.
"I'm so sorry, loki" she was finally able to say, he looked at her, and smiled.
"It's fine" he said, trying to shake it off, neither of them knew what to say, and thankfully there was a knock at their door to break the silence, and change the topic.
"Come in" Loki called to whoever was at the door, they heard it open and Thor walked in.
"Eira, we are in need Of your assistance" he said rather seriously.
"I'll be right there" she said, and he left the room. Loki let her out of bed even though he didn't really want to.
"Why don't you come with me?" She offered, seeing how bored loki was. "It would do you good to walk around for a bit" she continued. He got out of bed, got dressed, and followed her out, they found Thor, Sif, and the three.
"What's going on?" Eira asked as they walked over to them.
"Loki" Sif said in a surprised tone "I wasn't excepting you to be up yet" he was surprised that she wasn't disappointed, the two of them never got along.
"Eira, we've received a message from your sister" Thor said, turning to Eira.
"What does she have to say?" Eira asked, trying to hide her fear and hatred.
"We're not really sure, I think she wrote it so that you'd be the only one who could understand it" he told her, handing her a piece of folded paper. She unfolded it and read: 'You think you know me so well, you think you know How I'll come, but that will Be your downfall, I'm Coming for you in a way You told loki I never would.'
.
"She's raising an army" she said under her breath. She never mentioned the part about what she told loki though, she didn't know how Embrey knew what she told loki, but Embrey knew, so it didn't matter.
"Do you know when, or how she'll attack?" Thor asked, she crumpled up the piece of paper.
"No, all I know is that it won't be discrete" she said feeling like kicking a table, but then felt Loki's hand gently stroke her back.
"We've defeated bigger threats than her, don't worry" he told her reassuringly, she sighed and felt her fear leave her, something about having Thor and Loki by her side, always made her feel safe and secure.
"Hogan, go tell my father about this threat" he commanded, Hogan left to alert the king. Everyone knew things would be on edge for a while, Embrey wasn't an easy enemy to fight, and they didn't know when to expect her, thankfully they had a strong army, but they all knew a war was coming, and everyone, no matter how confident, felt the fear of defeat.
