Eira was laying in bed with loki sitting beside her, it had been a full day since she started remembering, and she still hadn't woken up. Loki hadn't left her side once, and he was starting to get anxious, he would've thought she was dead if it weren't for the slow rise and fall of her chest as she breathed, but it had been twenty four hours of him just sitting there watching her sleeping. He realized he was really tired, he hadn't gone to bed, and the only time he even took his eyes off her was when the healers came in to see of he was alright, which only took about five minutes. he slid into bed next to her, just to be a little more comfortable, but almost instantly fell asleep. In about an hour he woke up, he didn't know what woke him up, but when he opened his eyes he saw that Eira was awake and sitting up on the edge of the bed, she was dressed, so he knew she'd been awake for a while. "Darling" he said as he sat up next to her, she turned her hear to him and she looked weak, and had clearly been crying for a long time, she was looking down, and when he put his hand on her shoulder, he could feel her trembling a little.
"Are you alright sweetheart?" He said, putting his arms around her comfortingly, she didn't say anything, she just leaned into him, he couldn't hear her crying, but he could feel a few tears drop onto his arm.
"Shh, it's okay" he whispered, running his fingers through her hair. "You're okay, you're safe. We got Brynjar, so he won't be able to hurt you again" he told her, she sat up straight again, her crying had stopped.
"Brynjar" she said, her voice was slightly raspy and filled with hate, but somehow it didn't seem evil or disturbing this time. she no longer looked weak or frail, in an instant, she looked strong and determined. "Where is he?" She asked, the same hateful tone in her voice. But now loki knew why it wasn't creepy, the hate wasn't directed toward him, and he felt the same hate that she did, he hated Brynjar as much as anyone. "Is he here?" She asked.
"He's in the dungeons" loki said. Almost before he'd finished she was up and halfway out the door.
He quickly followed, he'd slept in his clothes, so he didn't bother to change.
"Eira, darling, what are you doing?" He asked as he followed her quick pace down the halls.
"I need to talk to your father, alone" she said as she entered the throne room and shut the door behind her. Loki just waited outside. In a moment she came back out and started walking toward the dungeons.
"What's going on?" He asked.
"Just follow me" she said. Normally he'd be concerned, but right now he was almost excited to see what she had up her sleeve. They walked down the stairs into the dungeons, and found Brynjar's cell. Loki opened it and they walked in, he was the only person in this cell, and when they walked in he looked a little fearful.
"Remember me?" Eira asked sarcastically "I'm the one who's mind you stole and played games with" she hissed, stepping closer to him.
"Look, I know you hate me, but-" he started but was cut off.
"Darn right I hate you! No, hate isn't a strong enough word for how I feel about you, I would be thrown out of asgard if I spoke the words that come to mind when I think of you, you sick disgusting monster! You sold me! You took my mind and sold me like some animal who doesn't have feelings!" She yelled.
"Please, I can explain" he said, stepping back, clearly afraid of her power.
"Oh I'm sure you can, I'm sure the jotuns offered you some great reward for delivering me to them, I'm sure you 'had no choice'" she said sarcastically "well guess what, I don't care! I don't care what they offered you, I don't care what your motives were, I don't care!" She screamed even louder.
"Listen, I'm-" he started, but she knew he was only trying to lie to get her to leave him alone, she grabbed his throat and pinned him down on the ground
"Do you know what it's like to be treated like a toy? To feel like you're just a puppet on a string? To feel powerless I defend yourself from someone else?" She hissed in his face, letting ice creep from her hand, freezing his throat.
"Cause that's how I felt! That is what I felt! You murdered my baby in front of me! You tortured me and made me wish I could just die!" She screamed.
"Then kill me" he sneered with what little breath he had "if you hate me so much, just kill me. But I bet you're not strong enough, you don't have it in you" he mocked.
"I have other plans for you" she said as she let go of his neck. "You're being moved" she told him as she got up. he looked confused.
"What?" He asked as he tread to get up.
"We're putting you in a different cell. Solitary confinement is only for murderers" she told him.
"But I am. I murdered frigga" he told her.
"Yes, but there's no prof, I was the only one in the room when it happened, and my mind has been through so much that my word isn't really worth anything now. So they're going to put you in the cell with the thieves, because technically the only thing we can hold you for is stealing, you stole me" she told him, her voice was now calm and steady, which made Brynjar feel very uneasy.
"Why would you want to do that?" He asked, knowing solitary confinement was one of the worse punishments.
"It's just the law" she shrugged with a mischievous smile. "But you know what's funny about the cell they're putting you in? It's that one, by the way" she said, pointing to the cell across the hall. "No, what?" He asked.
"All five of those men are thieves. But the thing is, they only stole in order to keep themselves alive, so they're not even really bad people" she said.
"So what?" He said back, getting confused and worried.
"Well they've all grown to like me. I come down here and talk to them, in all honesty I feel sorry that they have I be in here. So they've all taken a liking to me" she said, as she knelt down to get close to him "And they all really hate you for what you did to me" she said, and he was starting to see her plan.
"And you're right, I don't have it in me to hurt you, as much as I hate you, I'm not physically strong enough hurt you beyond a few cuts and busies. but they could" she told him "and they will" she added as she stood back up. there was a moment of silence, Brynjar knew she was right, there was a line of people who wanted to hurt him, and she was giving him over to a group who most certainly would.
"Well at least you have all that money from the frost giants" loki said sarcastically "sure hope it was all worth it" he added as he guided Eira out of the cell.
"I'll be right there love" he said as he shut the door with him still inside. "If you ever even think about hurting my wife again, if you even joke about laying a finger on her, I swear I will rip you apart piece by piece" he hissed before he left the room. He saw Eira coming back with a few guards, he told them which cell to move Brynjar into and he and Eira went back up into the palace
