Loki was getting ready to go back to jotunhiem, he was glad he no longer had to sneak around and he could be open about it. But what his father said was eating at his mind 'Thor has refused to take the throne, so that makes you the next heir' he hadn't thought about being king in a long time, and now he wasn't sure if he was the right person.
'Stop it, focus, Eira's in danger' he kept saying when his mind trailed off on thoughts of the throne. He left his room, and went to get a small weapon to defend himself I need be. "How long should you be there?" He heard Thor ask.
"Do you have a tracker hidden on me? You always know where I am" loki said sarcastically with a smirk. Thor laughed.
"No, I don't have a tracker." He said.
"Well I should be back in a few days, hopefully with Eira" loki said. "Father told me you were going to be king" Thor said, loki dropped his head.
"Yeah, you've doomed asgard by refusing" loki said jokingly, he really didn't want to have this conversation right now.
"I don't think so, I think you'll make a great king" Thor said, loki smiled.
"Well, I don't know, but thank you" he said as he tried to leave but was stopped by Thor, he held mjölnir out to him.
"I think you can" he said, loki shook his head.
"I'm not in the mood for this right now" he said.
"Come on, I know you can, you've proved yourself" Thor insisted.
"Maybe I can, maybe everything had payed off, but I'm on my way to jotunhiem, if I try to lift it now and can't, then there's no way I'll be focused" he said, as he brushed passed thor, hoping that would be the end of that. Thor walked loki to the bifrost to see him off. Hiemdall opened the portal and loki was back on Jotunhiem.
"Well, home sweet home" he said out loud but to himself. "And now I'm talking to myself" he said as he started to walk to the city, he was trying to think of a reason to be there and figured the war story was the best bet, it was cold, even for Jotunhiem, so he was trying to hold his clothes close to himself to keep in his heat, he shifted to his jotun form, for some reason that always helped him in the cold, it didn't make it warmer,
just more tolerable. He finally reached the city, he made his way to the temple and saw the guards standing outside.
"I wish to speak with your- you're queen" he said, still finding it hard to believe that Eira was the queen, or that anyone was the queen 'why would they subjugate themselves to an asgardian woman?' He thought to himself.
"She has ordered for no agardian to enter" the guard replied.
"Well I'm not asgardian, and I think she'll want to hear what I have to say" he told them "it's in Jotunhiems best interest" he continued, the two guards looked at each other, they checked him for any weapons, they found his knife and took it. They then opened the door, and one of them waked loki back to the throne room. they entered and Eira wasn't there.
"She'll be here shortly" the guard said as he left loki alone. 'Is she ever here?' Loki thought, she had been absent the first time he came there too. He was also no worried because he had no more weapons. In a moment he heard the doors open and Eira came in.
"What are you doing here?" She asked in disgust.
"I've come to speak about a potential problem of war." He said "I also brought this for you" he continued as he handed her the sun necklace, she took it and looked at it. "Is this a trick?" She asked, his hope of jogging her memory disappeared, it used to mean so much to her and now didn't mean a thing.
"No, I just realized that I was rather rude the last time I was here" he said, her mouth quirked a bit into sort of a smile. "Thank you" she said, her demeanor changing into a kinder one, loki started to feel more comfortable now that she wasn't disgusted by his presence.
"Your highness, there are a few members of Asgard's counsel who are under the impression that you wish to start war with asgard" he old her, she raised her eyebrows. "Do they?" she chuckled. "Well I don't" she continued.
"Well, if you could possibly come back to asgard with me and tell them in person, I think it would convince them" he said to her, hoping she would agree to go back.
"You want me to come to asgard?" She said with a blank expression. "Yes, I just think that it could prevent problems for us both" he said, she looked at him completely blank.
"You're just like your father" she said stepping closer to him. "Odin?" He questioned.
"No, laufey!" She screamed and sent shards of ice across the room, hitting his face and knocking him down.
"You try to trick me into coming back with you, you're just as sneaky as he was!" She yelled.
"I only want you to-" he started, but was cut off.
"They hold me you'd come after me! They all knew you'd come and try to take me there!" She yelled. She then started to go crazy, she collapsed onto the ground screaming.
"Eira! What's wrong with you?!" Loki yelled running over to her and turning her over to face him.
"Guards! Guards! Help!" She screamed, in less than a moment three guards came in and grabbed loki, ripping him away from her.
"He attacked me!" She yelled as one of them helped her up "he tried to kill me!" He screamed again.
"Let go of me!" Loki yelled as he struggled to get out of the guards grip.
"Take him to the dungeons!" She screamed. She was crying, but as he was dragged out Of the room he was able to catch her send an evil smirk his way before he felt a blow to the head and blacked out.
