Eira woke up to loki gently shaking her shoulder.
"Eira, come in, we have to go" he said, waking her up. Her eyes opened slowly before she sat up.
"Go where?" She asked, he'd forgotten that this is the only life she knew.
"Back to asgard" he said "home" he added, seeing that the name 'asgard' meant absolutely nothing to her. She nodded.
"It's a little windy, so just hold onto me" he said, extending his hand for her to take.
"How do I know I can trust you?" She asked, a little nervous about the whole situation.
"You don't" he sighed "so you can either stay here and die for sure, or you can come with me and take a chance. It's up to you" he told her, she smiled a tiny bit, something about him coming right out and telling her there was no way of knowing his intentions made her smile. He started to get up but she didn't really let him.
"Loki, I don't think you should be walking yet" she said.
"I'm fine, I've survived worse. And we can't stay here any longer, we'll both freeze to death" he said back, she knew he was right, but he was limping when he tried to walk, and was still pretty beat up which made her feel terrible, and she wasn't in any better shape than him. They stood up and left the cave, there was a slight wind which made the air even more chilly, and it was still pretty dark.
"Come on, this way" he said, taking her hand and starting to walk.
"Do you know where we're going?" She asked, he nodded.
"The bifrost site is just a little way from here, I went out last night to look for it" he told her. He was half expecting her to say something. About the fact that he left her in a cave, but she didn't, she didn't say anything for a while.
"Do you hear that?" She asked, stopping in her tracks, loki knew she always had a strong sense of hearing, so he knew something was there.
"What is it?" He asked, he could only hear the wind.
"It sounds like-" she said as she turned around, and could see a group of frost giants chasing after them. "like running" she said, loki grabbed her hand tightly and they both started running as fast as they could
there was a bit of distance between them and the frost giants, but they knew that if they were caught there wouldn't be a second escape. They started seeing arrows fly past them. "Great, they're armed' lokI thought. All of a sudden, loki felt a sharp pain in his right shoulder, he was hit. He let out a cry of pain before refocusing and pulling the arrow through. He cold see where the bifrost site was and felt a little more hopeful. Then He heard Eira cry in pain and saw her fall to the ground, she had also been shot, but in the leg. He ran back to her and helped her up.
"Come on, we're almost there" he said encouragingly. She started to run again, but stripped over every rock and obstacle that came her way, she fell into the snow again.
"Come on darling" loki said, helping her up again, but she just fell right back down, she was exhausted and struggling to breath.
"Loki, loki you have to go" she told him, he shook his head.
"No, no I'm not leaving you" he said. "Loki- You have to go loki" she said again, but he didn't listen, the bifrost site was only about fifty feet away from him now. He gathered all the strength he had left and picked her up, continuing to make his way there, but the frost giants were catching up to them faster now. "Loki, You need to escape" she told him.
"But-" he started but was cut off.
"Let me go" she said. He looked down at her for a moment, he knew he wasn't about to leave her here to die alone. He kept running, (more like walking at this point) finally he came to the bifrost site, the jotuns right behind them.
"Heimdall!" He called as he stumbled to the ground. a flash of light surrounded them, and he knew they were home.
