Eira woke up in the morning with Loki's arms wrapped tightly (as tightly as he could with what little strength he had) around her waist, and his head still resting in her neck, she started to get up, but his grip tightened.
"Loki, I need to get up" she told him softly, seeing that he wasn't fully awake yet.
"No you don't" he said, half asleep, she rolled her eyes, but also thought he was cute when he was half asleep. she was able to easily pull out of his grip. She got up, and got dressed.
"Where are you going?" He asked in a tired, monotone voice.
"To get Afya, she needs to take a look at you" she told him, he didn't really seem to care, he was still half asleep.
"Well hurry back, you were keeping me warm" he said, hugging the blanket.
"Said the frost giant to the ice queen" she said with laughter as she left the room. Right when she said that, he became fully awake, he sat up, remembering the prophecy. he hadn't been thinking about it for the past few weeks since he'd been captured, but now he was remembering it, and a feeling of terror took him over. He then remembered that he never got the chance to tell Eira about it, the eldjötnar had attacked before he had the chance. He started to breath harder, he felt his arms go weak and his hands start to shake, just then, Afya and Eira came back in, he was startled by the door opening.
"Your highness, are you okay?" Afya asked, seeing that there was no color in his face, and he was breathing harder than he should be.
"Ye- yes, yes.... I'm- I'm fine" he stuttered, trying to focus on his words. "You don't seem fine" Afya said as she sat down on the bed next to him and put her hand on his forehead.
"You feel hot" she told him, he was still breathing hard.
"Eira, when you left, why did you call yourself 'the ice queen'?" He asked, ignoring Afya's comment about his temperature.
"Everyone calls me 'the ice queen', why do you ask" she said, a bit confused as to why he was freaking out, he had been fine all night.
"Where's Thor?" He asked."Loki, you're bouncing all over the place with these random questions. Just calm down" Eira said sitting next to him. He tried to calm down, or at least make it look like he was calm, he started to breath normally, but he still felt that weakness throughout his whole body, and he couldn't stop trembling. Eira got up to leave Afya to take care of loki. He let her check his burn, she checked all the cuts on his back and chest, and she put ice on the bruises on his face. After she was finished he felt her hand on his arm."Are you sure you're alright?" She asked, seeing that something was clearly bothering him. He shook his head.
"No, but I can't tell you why" he told her, she closed her eyes and nodded.
"Well then tell Eira, she loves you and wants to help you" she told him standing up, and heading for the door.
"Thank you, Afya" he called to her, she nodded an left the room, shortly after, Eira came back in.
"Hey, what's going on with you? You were fine all night" she said in a concerned voice as she sat down beside him.
"Eira, there's something I have to tell you, but I don't really know how" he said in a shaky voice.
"You don't know how? That's new, you always know just what to say" she said with concern in her voice. He sighed, and told her everything, about the prophecy, that Embrey somehow wrote it, that he had spoken to Odin and he had known about it for a long time, everything. She sat there in shock, listening to his story, she didn't know what to think, so many questions raced through her mind; how did Embrey write it? When did she write it? Who told her loki was a frost giant? Why did she care about them?.
"Loki, I can't pretend to know what this is about, but I do know this: I will never hurt you, and I know for a fact that you will never harm me, whatever this is, it's only a trick down by Embrey, she's only trying to scare us." She told him, he let out a sigh of relief, somehow just the fact that Eira knew about it made him feel safer."But she's going to come back, she wants to kill you" he told her.
"I know, but let's just not think about that yet. If we spend all out time thinking about what could happen, or what might happen, we'll never be able to focus on what's happening now" she said with a smile, he felt a wight lift off his shoulders, he realized she was right, he didn't need to worry about Embrey right now, they could cross that bridge when they get to it.
"Your right" he said, his whole demeanor changed. his usual, mischievous look came back to his face, he reached out his hand and pulled her down next to him, wrapping his arms around her and pulling her close to him. "What are you doing? I have things to do today" she said with a slight giggle. "I'm cold, and you were keeping me warm" he whispered as he held her face and kissed her lips.
"You do this so much better than Embrey" he said in between their kisses, she pulled away for a second.
"You kissed Embrey?" She asked, feeling a little hurt.
"I was chained to a wall, she kissed me, and believe me, it was worse than any of the tortures she could come up with" he said to her.
"Oh come on, she couldn't have been /that/ bad" Eira said with a bit of a giggle.
"Well it was bad for one reason: it wasn't you" he said with a smirk, before kissing her again.
