Loki woke up in a dungeon, he jerked up and looked around, realizing his plan was a mess of a failure and he was now captive.
"Dungeons and cells. My life is a series of dungeons and cells!" He yelled out loud, he shifted a little and then felt that every muscle in his body ached and he had bruises everywhere, it was also freezing cold and he no longer had his layers of cloths, he only had his shirt, which by this time was worn and thin, and his leather pants. He tried to stand up but the moment he put any weight in his right ankle, pain shot up his leg, he sat back down and looked at it and saw that it was swollen and probably broken. His head was ringing and he figured he was beaten while he was unconscious. He tried to figure out how long he'd been there but it was pretty hopeless, he knew it couldn't be more than a day because all of the bruises were still pretty bad, but it had to be at least a few hours because he was sore. "None of this makes any sense, why would they want a queen from asgard? Why did they need to kill frigga? Why did they get Brynjar to help? Why does everyone come after her? She hasn't done anything to them, and she's not queen of asgard, shes not really anyone to them" he said to himself. Right now he really wanted to sleep, the only thing he wanted was to do was fall asleep in his bed on asgard with Eira next to him, but he knew that wasn't going to happen any time soon, maybe never.
'What if I'm never able to get her back? And I can't fight her, I still love her' he thought, he rested his head in his hands, trying to think. He heard the door open and saw Eira standing in the doorway. She walked over to him and set a tray with a bit of food down on the ground next to him. He grabbed her wrist.
"Eira please" he said, she tried to pull away but his grip tightened, he wasn't about to let her go.
"Let go of me" she said coldly.
"Just one minute, please, talk to me for one minute" he pleaded, she turned to look at him and sat down.
"One. minute" she said clearly.
"Why are you here? Don't you have servants that could do this?" He asked.
"I like to deal with my prisoners myself. Why do you think I'm never around when you come to visit?" She said. He didn't want to think about what that meant.
"Eira, look at me" he said, for the first time since she'd been gone, they made perfect eye contact.
"Try to remember" he said, she rolled her eyes.
"I don't know you" she said in irritation.
"Look at the necklace you're wearing, I gave that to you" he said, trying to make her think. "No you didn't" she said.
"Then were did you get it?" He asked.
"I don't know, do you remember where you got everything you own? Of course not" She said, getting defensive. "Eira please, please try to think. You know me, we were married, we had a daughter" he said, trying to recall anything of significance.
"I don't have any children" she said flatly.
"Yes you did, just think!" He said, getting flustered.
"You may have been married, but I'm not your wife" she said, thinking he'd lost his wife and was now just going mad. "Yes you are" he said as he held he race and neck and kissed her. She pulled away and shoved him back.
"Get away from me!" She yelled, backing away. "Whoever your wife was, she wasn't me. I don't know what happened to her but she's not me" she said as she stood up to leave.
"Wait, wait" he said as he scrambled to his feet, trying to ignore the pain in his leg. "You have a scar, on your waist. On the side of your waist you have a scar form being stabbed" he said, she stopped moving.
"How did you know that?" She asked.
"Because I was there when it happened. We were out riding and a man came out and threw a knife at you, that was the day I told you I loved you" he said to her, her breathing grew harder and she shook her head, her demeanor changing and becoming softer and more like the Eira he knew
"No, no that can't be, I've lived on jotunhiem for as long as I can remember" she said, but he could tell he was getting through. "And soon after, I asked you to marry me" he said.
"No, no stop!" She said collapsing to the ground, her old memories were coming back and it was making her dizzy. he came over to her and held her up to look at him."Though sickness and hardship may come, I vow to always defend you and always be by your side" he said. "I told you that on our wedding day" he continued. she looked at him and tears fell from her eyes, he reached up and touched his face.
"Loki?" She whimpered before they both heard the door open and three jotuns came in. Two of them grabbed Eira's arms and pulled her away from loki and to her feet.
"Wait, what are you doing? I'm your queen let me go!" She screamed, and she went back to being the brainwashed queen, she again looked mean and wicked, screaming and struggling viciously to get away.
"Let to I me you Filthy disgusting-" was the last thing loki could hear her say as she was dragged out. "You shouldn't have talked to her" the third jotun said.
"Why would you do this? She's your queen and-" loki started but was cut off by the jotun laughing.
"She's not our queen" he said, loki looked confused. "She's a pawn, we only wanted her to get to you" he said. "And we only want you to get to your brother" he continued.
"So why make her queen?" Loki asked.
A pawn isn't affective if it knows it's useless, you have to make then think they're as important as the queen. She was only bait for you, and you're only bait for Thor." He told him as he left and locked loki back in.
"Don't hurt her! Leave her alone you don't have to hurt her!" Loki screamed after him, grabbing the bars on the door, but he could hear Eira's faint screaming.
