Of all the people that I've met
Of all the years that I have had
It stuck with me to go through all
I guess the silence isn't so badWhen not a single soul was there
To hold me up as I fell down
This true old companion of mine
Was there to set my falling crownAs I let my life fade by
Sitting under the cypress tree
It sat with me on the bench
To share my painful infinityThe shooting stars would often be
Aghast at my burnt loneliness
Little did they know back then
I've got a friend to clean my messOne day my life came to my door
All withered, lonely, ragged and sad
It smiled gently and whispered so
"I guess the silence isn't so bad"
