spill them drops
oh lara, oh lara,
see me fill my glass
with your absence
and pour it down
my raspy throat
and still feel thirsty
for all i had was
your fleetin' shadow
in the middle of it,
a night in the city
all bright with lights
that make me vanish
into thin air, no?how is it possible?
all these activities
happening, occuring,
with you gone forever?
the earth keeps spinnin',
the sun rises and sets,
the rain keeps fallin',
the people lose bets,
the cars keep drivin',
the city drowns in lights,
the river keeps flowin',
the days fade into nights,
without you being here
the cycle goes on
oh lara, oh lara,
are you really gone?if so, then why, oh why
do i see you in the sky,
as a silhouette of tears,
a symbol of all my fears,
as tea spilled on the floor,
a faint knock on the door,
as a kiss on cold, blue lips,
or a memory between sips
of drinks made of nothing
but your absence,
oh lara, oh lara,
do i even make sense?Author's Note
Listening to 'The Story Never Ends' by Lauv. It's a song that Tae suggested on his Vlive and I've been addicted to it since then. Such an emotional serenade. :')
I have my exam in 9 hours and here I'm writing senseless poetry. I have no idea why I wrote this strange poem within 10 minutes. But I've mentioned before that this book's about to end and I'm not holding anything back now. Please do let me know what you think of this poem. =)💜
Much love,
Hazel *-*
