I try to escape every invading sound
Whir of an old engine on back street
Cracklin' embers by hearth and heat
Snowflakes kissin' the window pane
Whistle of a magical Christmas train
For I'm lost in the puzzle in my hand
This soft loneliness, I just can't stand
Winter's been hurtin' me for so long
Is there somewhere, I wish to belong
I see no hope, no glee, not even light
Is this really a new Christmas night?
