oh hazel,
stop paintin' yourself
on mud walls
with pretty colours
only to pray for rain
when you're done
doin' that
to run away from
stupid people,
oh hazeloh hazel,
stop scribblin' yourself
in dreamy poems
on fragile papers
only to pray for arson
when you're done
doin' that
to run away from
being stable,
oh hazeloh hazel,
stop singin' yourself
as mournful lyrics
in tragic serenades
only to pray for silence
when you're done
doin' that
to run away from
being soulful,
oh hazeloh hazel,
stop drawin' yourself
as intricate sketches
on rollin' seawaves
only to pray for floods
when you're done
doin' that
to run away from
being labelled,
oh hazeloh hazel,
stop drownin' yourself
on your own,
for i badly want you
to pick up your phone,
so please listen to me
and don't stay alone,
just to run away from
a harsh betrayal,
oh hazeloh hazel...
Author's Note
Listening to 'Hazel' by Carlie Hanson. I was surprised to find that someone had a song named Hazel and that too, really beautiful. You should give it a try. =)❤
This is a poem written for..myself. Self love is something that I need to teach myself. It's important not to bring ourselves down if we want to succeed and no matter how hard I try not to do it, I end up doubting my abilities and potential. This poem is addressed to myself but it is a message for everyone. Hope you liked it. =)❤
Much love,
Hazel *-*
