stuck at the bottom of a pool
i drown in the suffocating blue
while the corpse of my disarrayed thoughts
floats as an unavoidable cynosure, blocking the sky
and everything good
that ever happened to medeep under the blues, i've lost all clues
of how i ended up here when all i remember
is me lying on my bedroom floor
crying over a song in an old record
and there's no way, my tears could have built
a whole damned swimming pooli sneak a peak at the azure sky,
knowing none of it is destined for me
for i can't manage to inhale a pint of air
owing to the water that's making it harder
for me to keep holding on to the song
that was playing on the old vintage record
so i close my eyes faintly,
thinking how easy it would have been
if i was nothing but a sweet biscuit
dumped at the bottom of a cup of tea.if only...
Author's Note
Listening to 'WANTED U' by Joji.
I've had this idea for quite a while (of using a swimming pool as a metaphor for tears? No. Of relating the drowning in a pool with a biscuit dumped in a tea cup, haha) and I planned to skip it until it started beating me down for ignoring it so I just had to take it out. Sorry, poems can be like kids sometimes. Insisting and stubborn. Yet innocent. :')
How was it? Just 2 more poems to go. I'll end this book on 15th of September, a day which is the most special day of my life. More than my birthday. :')
Much love,
Hazel *-*
