do you remember
the hiss of the kettle
that held tea for two?
or the soft crackle of
our old record player
after the classic album
traipsed into silence
dense with sweetness
left behind in the air?or is there a chance
that you remember
those sunlit alleys
between the shelves
aligned with old books
that so smelled like
the kiss of low dreams
and the hug of stars
in the middle of day?or would you mind
if i make you recall
the trail of the smoke
that left your cigarette
while you sat there
in the rocking chair
and let the summer
disappear away in
a whisp of nostalgia?you would remember
but how would you?
for all you did was to
pass away in a mirage
of soft happy endings
and leave me alone
to ponder over it all
in the caress of this
summertime sadnessAuthor's Note
If you haven't realized uptil now, he's dead. She's recalling every memory of the summer that they spend together and wondering if he would have remembered it all if he were alive. Summer can be this sad sometimes. Who knows. :')❤
