once upon a time
i found a love for me
that accompanied me
in the latest hours of night
and the way her crevice
ended in a spine so deep
with millions of thoughts
falling right into that abyss
was utterly miraculousi'd so marvel over her
and her homey scent
and everytime my fingers
ran over her skin
i couldn't stop askin' myself
what a magic it was
to conform
to the same texture
as myself..
what a fascination
to fall for a soul
that took root
in the same material
as i for i was mud
and so was she..oh god forbid
i was so in love
like never before
and i surely knew
that i'd never
fall in love
any more..once upon a time
i found a love for me
whose core was so fragile
yet she had a strong mind
with all those imprints
on her pretty skin
that i couldn't keep
my eyes off her
and if it was dark
i'd turn on the bed lamp
because i couldn't bear
to lose the sight of her
in the middle of nightthen i used to smile
in the dimly lit room
all by myself 'cause
i held her by my heart
in between my arms
with a passion so strong
that i couldn't describe
yet i found it strange
that how could i fall
for a book so bad
so bad
that i was so in love
like never before
and why was i so sure
that i'd never
fall in love
any more..Author's Note
Listening to 'Perfect' by Ed Sheeran. This poem is about falling in love with a 'book'. Yes. I know your jaw has dropped but read it again and you'd agree with me that it's pretty amusing to fall in love with a book. Hehe. :D
Much love,
Hazel ♡
