back when i had dived in
the crystals of your eyes
i swear it felt like baskin'
in gleams of golden skiesyour glance had warmth
of ethereal sunlit dreams
the shimmer deep down
sparkled like sun beamsan' when i sipped it a li'l
that vintage champagne
rolling in a delicate glass
your gaze left me insaneits soft dazzling radiance
glistened like a goldmine
oh it had me dancin' on a
lucent string of sunshinetoday, lookin' at this glass
glittering eyes are all i see
oh am i drinkin' the wine
or is the wine drinkin' meAuthor's Note
Listening to 'I Can't Find You' by SolarSolar. Teen Wolf introduced me to this lovely song and the reason why this poem is so 'sunlit' is that this song played when Derek and Jennifer kissed while the sun was right behind them. That was just a moment but it's kind of marked in my thoughts. Stuck like a broken record. I guess things look more beautiful under the sun. ❤☀️
How is this poem? It's about someone who fell for a girl with golden eyes. The girl is gone and he is drunk so all he finds in the twinkling glass of wine are her sunlit eyes, the memory of which consumes him slowly. It's not much. I could write more..but as always, it's morning already. I should probably sleep now. But I do like how it's short yet filled with so much light. I know it ends on a sad note but still, its blinding luminescence do makes me forget the darkness that looms on my words now and then like a shadow. :')❤
Much love,
