I lie alone in a hotel room, so bright
Curtains are caressed by moonlightWalkin' to the window, I glance out
In this void, my existence is a shoutThey know me, I'm hugged by fame
On neon boards, I can see my nameYet it is all they will know about me
A star enjoying life's colours, so freeBut I stare down at the world below
An' I realise that they'll never knowWhat it feels to get trapped in glory
To be rising spotlight of every storyTo bury your identity in a gone past
To keep up with the universe so fastTo have your name on drunken lips
To be the bearer of all sunken shipsTo give your control to the industry
To let 'em make you part of 'history'Beyond that skyline, I hear thunder
There are so many things, I wonderSo I sneak away from sight of street
Is there somewhere we could meet?Or if you have my album on a shelf
For, now, this is all I know of...
