go on, lara,
shut yourself,
in the confinements
of your fears
and hallucinations
while i sit here,
outside your soul,
waiting to be
allowed insidego on, lara,
hide behind the walls
that you have built
with so much labor
but without benefits
for you are just like
someone in a car
with tinted windows,
relishing your privacy,
feeling so safe,
only you don't realize
that the world outside
loses its colours
when you see it
through tinted windowsAuthor's Note
Listening to 'Test Drive' by Joji. Right now, I'm on the highway and by the time you'll read this, I'll be at my cousin's place. I'm here for a little vacation and I hope to buy myself some peace along the way. =)
This poem was inspired by our car's windows which are tinted. Half of the journey, I was feeling pretty good about how no one can see me and how I feel so safe in this little space, away from prying eyes. However, I just realized that everything around me is just way too gloomy and I thought: 'Maybe it's the night, Hazel. Let it go.' But it's not. There's always a price for everything good. And you never know if it's good at all. So, next time, you try to build walls around yourself to keep people outside, remember how the world around you is going to be all gloomy after that. =)
Much love,
Hazel *-*
