It's such a silent neighbourhood
I'd give you something if I couldBut I'm so terrified to sneak out
'Cause I hear this echoing shoutThat breaks my steps everytime
For I'm frail and love is sublimeIt tells me not to cross a red line
Drawn on the road, dark 'n' fineFor it's meant to keep me secure
Hidden from the love 'n' its lureBut I so crave to cross it one day
Oh how long it'll keep me at bayListen, I will cross it to meet you
Oh will you drink away my blueFor this silence stole my colours
Also, this town has no summersHey do you have summers there
For I'd too love to have my shareOf warmth 'n' ice cones 'n' parks
To see the skies an' soaring larksDear, after we'd have finally met
Then I'll lowly whisper my secretI'm not crossing this line for you
I am sorry but I'll say words trueI daily see a spark across the line
I get so delighted by its soft shineAn' its starry memory ever lurks
So I'll cross the line for the...

Fireworks!Author's Note
This is such a strange poem. I don't understand it myself. It has so many interpretations but I guess, it's about a girl who lives in a dark neighbourhood and yearns to cross this red line that stands between her and a town full of life where she can see the joys and fun. And even though she has been told that the red line secures her from the poison of love, she wants to cross it. We feel as if she wants to cross it for the love of a boy but at the end, her innocence is revealed when we see that all she wanted was to see the fireworks across the line. Dark neighbourhood is a symbol of isolation while the fireworks are a symbol of hope. Sometimes, it is more important to have hope in life than love and I leave this statement for my readers to figure out. ;)♥♡
Much Love xX
