on days like these
when I open my eyes
lying amidst a mess
in arms of loneliness
my soul silently cries
for a lover of seas
on days like these
when i am no one
i start to think that
i'm everythin' undonean unopened love letter
left at the window sill
the date scribbled on
an expired happy pill
a monotonous motion
of an old rockin' chair
the soft hiss of a kettle
dying slowly in the aira light knock on door
in the icy kiss of winter
the repetitive clicking
of a worn-out printer
a fog on plastic glasses
from tea's trail of steam
the gap of a rabbit hole
in a forgotten dreaman erased stroke of ink
on a very crumpled page
the softly poetic chirp
of a dead bird in a cage
a flourescent candle's
low extinguishin' flame
the whisp of a summer
gone lost, never camean image of hourglass
with still grains of sand
the soft nostalgic caress
of an illusionary hand
a faint glow of a firefly
in a world full of light
the fadin' kiss of lovers
on 30th February's nighta silent echo of a piano
in an empty concert hall
whispers of a madman
thrown against the wall
an unfinished painting
on a canvas torn apart
the long lost symphony
of a once beating hearta nightingale's song
for unborn generations
the rusty railway track
crossin' ghost stations
a scream of the warrior
meant to be so brave
the petal of a wiltin' rose
planted above a graveon days like these
when i open my eyes
like a baffled dunce
i feel them at once
all of my goodbyes
their pain can't cease
on days like these
like a criminal on run
i start to think that
i'm everythin' undoneAuthor's Note
What a strange rhyming scheme for first and last stanza! It can be noticed with slight attention, though. :p
However, it's the poem between the first and the last stanza that I'm loving more. Comment on your favourite stanzas and the imagery that grasped your attention the most. It's one of those poems that I could have prolonged but I feel like people are not into reading long poems so I left it as it is. Did you like it? I hope I'm not disappointing you all. =)❤
Much love,
