One Day

right there
yeah a bit here
to the right
into the light
i've placed my heart
like a display of art
'cause why not?
let 'em see the knot
that you have tied
a bit to the side
like a red rosy ribbon
'cause i'm the one
destined for you
you say it too

so why not?
when i'm so caught
in your soft embrace
in the right place
let them see
my bubbling glee
as i go all wild
like a little child
and try to forget
my every regret
for my part of pain
has no right to remain
deep in my core
anymore...

you know why?
look into my eye
feel my happiness
oh such a lovely mess
you've made of my soul
filling every hole
so lets go on a walk
and lets not talk
for i'm lovin' silence
over at wooden fence
by the floatin' clouds
away from the crowds
into the sunlit beam
is it a soft dream?

because if it is
i wouldn't want to miss
this golden chance
to taste this trance
that makes me insane
on the sixth lane
of our little town
with lands so brown
and a trace of 'you'
amidst the dew
free as a dove
and deeply in love
for it's not everyday
that we have our 'One Day'

Author's Note

Listening to 'Inside Out' by The Chainsmokers and this poem is kind of inspired by the movie 'One Day'. I love this movie so much! ♡♥

It feels like free verse yet it's not. It's rhyme with 14 verses per stanza. Can't believe I'm doing these experiments with my poetry. :x
