~Nostalgia~
It's delicate, but potent.
The pain from an old wound.
A twinge in your heart..
Far more powerful than memory alone
A feeling of a place
Where we...
Ache
To
Go
Again.
-My thoughts. My word...

i fell in love with a toy maker who treated me as a doll and built me a doll house as pretty as glass menagerie until someone tripped it over and shattered it to pieces so i had to change houses and leave this toy maker
then i went around the globe 'n' fell in love with a painter who painted me galaxies and sparkles of the stars thus painting me all over with colors, dreams 'n' scars until i fell in deep waters and all the rainbows on me dissolved in those waters to leave me all transparent and more vulnerable so i had to find a better shell and leave this painter
this time i went to the cafe 'n' fell in love with a writer who wrote love on my skin, injected poetry in my veins, and for scribbling our story he took all kinds of pains until the dense sweetness of his fleeting alphabets made me catch diabetes so i had to find a good cure and leave this writer
i checked at the hospital and fell in love with a doctor who could understand the language of my heart with his pretty instruments 'n' get the burning of my skin by merely looking into the redness of my soft eyes until his patients had to face lazy neglection on his part so i had to think about them and leave this doctor
i walked into a studio 'n' fell in love with a pianist who adorned my soul with the soft symphonies, melodies and harmonies and sweetly kissed my core with the play of his fingers over the black 'n' white keys until i fell in love with 'grey' so i had to find moderation and leave this pianist
then, i went to buy a watch 'n' fell in love with a clock maker who stopped the time for me and made me feel immortal by showering lacy eternity all over my low existence until i came to realize that death is an inevitable truth that can't be avoided at all so i had to embrace mortality and leave this clock maker
dejected, i sat at the station when i fell in love with you as we boarded the train to the skies and beyond while they chased our heels fruitlessly and in vain 'n' there never came an 'until' for there's no end to wanderin' so i fell in love with you 'n' i don't plan to walk away for the wanderer inside you has finally made me stay
Author's Note
Listening to Over The Love by Florence and The Machine. ❤
This one is an interesting poem with a lot of personifications. :D Did you like it? What's the best part about it? =) The best part for me is the contrast between wandering and staying. It's so magical the a 'wanderer' never stays at one place and this is what made her 'stay' with him. ^-^
This poem was originally inspired by the idea that I got one day. This idea was the metaphor about the clock maker and his ability to stop time for his precious lover. I was about to write an entire metaphorical poem over this solo idea but then I changed my plan at the last moment and came up with what you've just read. Haha! :D Seems like I'm getting interested in experimenting with poetry. :P Oh and I've noticed that I haven't done rhyme for a while now so I might try it soon. ❤
