Can you give it back to me?
The floating paper boats in sea
The fading warmth of evening tea
Those days of sheer ecstasyCan you give it back to me?
The wildest flower and honey bee
The wooden door and golden key
That maze of rolling mysteryCan you give it back to me?
That scent of books, oh so homey
Blissful ignorance of he and she
My forever pleasant eternityCan you give it back to me?
The loving shade of cypress tree
The rising smoke of warm coffee
The tales of chaotic insanityCan you give it back to me?
The brown swing, the bruised knee
Return to me, I have a plea
That hourglass holding infinityNo, you can't give it back to me
You thief, oh time! Hurt you be!
You took away my bliss, my 'ME'
The child in me, so wild and free
