You sat quietly in the garden of the chidren day-care and waited for your mum. It would have been pretty alright, since the sun was shining warmy, and there was no sign of clouds in the sky. If only that little red-haired pestering punk had gone away.

"Did it hurt?" You groaned at the beginning of his stupidest pick-up line. Seriously, the kid was like six, where did he learn those? And why did he try those on someone so obviously older than him.

"Look punk," you decided to be mild, "you're not even going to school yet, I'm a middle-schooler who just works here, why don't you go and try to hook up with someone your own age?" Kid puffed his cheeks annoyedly and shut up for a moment.

"Y/N-chan, but if I grow that tall," he pointed somewhere above your head, "will ya stop calling me punk and marry me?"

"Since that will never happen, sure," you patted his head patronizingly to show how little you thought of his promise and walked to your mum's car that had just stopped next to sidewalk.

"By Y/N-chan, don't forget your promise!" Small boy yelled after you.

"What promise?" Mum asked curiously.

"I promised to give him cookies tomorrow," you lied, knowing what your mum thought of teasing children.

"That's awfully nice of you, seems you really fit in on that job," she smiled happily and added something how it would be great if you became teacher like her.

"Sure mum," you said absentmindedly.

The next morning when you went to work, you saw the same small kid furiously drinking milk behind the breakfast table, until it looked like he was small barrel.

"What is he doing?" You asked from one of your co-workers, an older woman named Lucy.

"He told me he needs to grow taller to get married, and asked me what makes that happen faster," woman chuckled when the boy groaned and rolled off his seat, stumbling to the yard, "they are so cute when they're young,"

"sure, cute," you mumbled. Actually you had thought he had already forgotten about the thing and gone back to normal.

Instead of making a timeskip here, I'll just give you brief summary of the passing fifteen years. You worked in that daycare until you graduated from high school eight years later, and the small kiddo moved away with his family. In college you studied fine arts, especially renaissance painting, and after graduating from there you got a small studio, where you spent most of your time, doing research on painting methods and painting. You even had had few exhibits in world-famous gallery. Before one of them, you had remembered the incident from your past work and said in the opening speech 'I wish to remind one certain punk, that I'm still waiting for him to grow taller' that was an obvious joke, and you were sure the kiddo himself had forgotten about the whole thing already, but it was just a funny thing to say.

You were wandering around the streets, looking for a fjtting model for one of your new paintings, when it suddenly started to rain and you had to rush to one of the small street cafes. Damn you and your stupid habit never to carry and umbrella.

You sat down by one of the tables and waited for the rain to pass, fiddling with your half-soaked sketching pad and few pieces of charcoal, drawing some lines on the paper until they reminded a face.

"Can I bring you anything?" You suddenly heard a voice next to you and lookef up. Something about the man who was staring at you looked vaguely interesting. You stared at him for a moment and then asked if you could have photo of him for your drawing. The man seemed a little embarrased and you took the photo, starting to sketch his face after it right away.
