GreenR: *hides in a bush*
Law: you know they'll hate you now, right?
GreenR: *whispers* all too much?
Bepo: captain, why are you talking to a bush? And more importantly, why is the bush talking back? It's hardly logical.
GreenR: *still in a bush. It's a nice bush. No thorns* YOU ARE A TALKING POLAR BEAR YOU MORON! WHICH OF US IS LESS LOGICAL, HUH?!!

You giggled softly as you leaned back against the hard windowframe. While your fingers were playing with the small paws of a little dark brown kitten, your eyes stole quick glances from outside. You rubbed your hand against the ripped ear of a kitten, looking sadly at the pink scar that went from it, over it's left eye, finally ending at the cheek. Just a half of centimeter before it's small and soft nose.
"Do you think they found him?" You mumbled worriedly to the kitten, hoping it would understand your fear. "Doffy didn't come home last night. If he found Roci... I hope nothing bad happened." You had barely finished your sentence when the door of your bedroom creaked open and you grinned at the man stumbling in.
Your smile fell almost instantly, seeing the red splotches on his usually perfectly pure feather coat and pale grimness on his face. You jumped up, clutching the wriggling kitten and walked to him, taking his hand.
"Are you sick?" Was your first question as you led him to the bed and made him sit down on it. When you tried to touch his forehead to see if he had a fever, he just swatted your hand away and buried his head in his hands. "Look at me," you kneeled in front of him, placing your hands on both sides of his face. Moving very slowly, you took off his sunglasses to see his face fully. But the spark was gone.
The small spark of madness that was always twinkling in a corner of his eye was lost, and his eyes were rimmed with red and slightly puffy. The tears were slowly dropping from them even know.
"I don't understand it," he said on a broken voice like a small child, being taught his first lessons. "Why does it hurt?"
"What happened?" You moved closer and took him in your arms. Rven though he was almost three times your size he curled up against you and began talking very slowly, almost as if he was telling it to himself.
"Rocinante, he's dead," you suppressed a small gasp and listened. "He made me do it. Made me kill him. He hid that boy -Law. Took the goddamn fruit too. I didn't even mind that so much. But then he took out a gun. And I shoot him before he could do any harm with it and I know what I did was right, so why does it hurt?"
He looked up from your lap, his pale brown eyes questioning every feeling shooting through him. That was what happened. He came to you when he was sad, weak, vulnerable. No one else had seen him like that. They only saw the mad grin and perfect armor, not a crack in the world of that emotionless man.
"He was your brother. Family hurts you," you slided your fingers through his hair, finding it slightly funny how it felt exactly like kitten's before. From the life experience he was also a kitten - unexperienced, no had ever shown him what was wrong or right.
"But he never hurt me when he was alive,"
"Maybe you just didn't notice it," he seemed confused so you tried to explain it again. "Maybe what you did to him hurt him so much, but to you it didn't seem like it. So you tied him to yourself with those strings of your, and when you cut them now - well, part of you fell off." But he still didn't seem to get it.
"You didn't notice how often he was there and you got use to it. Use to having him around all the time and trusting someone. And now he's gone."
"I think I get it now," his furrowed brows moved back to their original places. He smiled slightly, "How do you know it all?"
"I've lost few people of my own," you smiled bitterly, remembering the faces.
"Who?"
"Y/N run!!" Your father screamed as the main mast of the ship caught fire. You backed few steps from it, looking horrifiedly as it fell onto the port and buried houses under it. Sparks and ashes flew everywhere, as about dkzen other ships had also caught fire alongside your father's.
"Mom?" You called out scaredly. "Dad? Bro-bro?" The people screamed around you and one of the old women grabbed you, pushing you away from the burning ships, until you were far enough not to feel the burn of those hellish flames on your skin.
Your fingers ran slowly over the scar your shoulder, taking in the necrotic skin on it. It still burned over the years. After being dragged away from fire you had ran back to search for your family, but you remembered nothing of it. Just the next day when you woke up, bandages covering half of your body and your grandmother weeping next to you. You family had died.
"Is that where you got it?" He raised his hand and slided his fingers over the scar and up to your face, touching the place where your left eye used to be. "When you lost your family?"
"Heyey!" You forced a laugh and jumped up. "I thought we were talking about you here. No matter how flattering it is, I'll rather skip the conversation about my looks."
"It suits you," he tilted his head slightly and you forced another grin.
"You know what, I think (kitty cat's name) wants something to eat, I'll be back in a second," you hurried out. When you were running down your burnt ankle slipped slightly on the stairs and
