You pursed your lips thoughtfully, poking the timer on your hand with a fork. It didn't even change it's numbers and stayed at 00.00.00.01. You poked it again but it stayed the same and you put the fork down, inwardly cursing your broken timer.
The soulmate system was appreciated many, but you had always found it worthless. Maybe because ever since you had been born your timer hadn't moved, always stuck on one second. That was either very good or very bad. Knowing your life, I'd rather say bad.
"Hey Y/N," Nami sat down behind the table in front of you and you pulled the sleeve over your timer. Even if she noticed she didn't say a thing about it and just kept chatting.
"You mind coming with me to town today?" She asked and you shrugged, asking why. "I wanna meet up with an old friend of mine, remember I told you about Robin? She came back from Egypt few days ago."
"You need a lift, doncha?" You sighed, remembering she had lost her driving licence for speeding few weeks ago. She nodded eagerly and you got up from your chair. "I'll go get my bag."
You went to your room and grabbed the bag, by the time you got outside and to your car, Nami was already happily in place. For the next fifteen minutes while you drove she tild you about the friends and you listened even though she had told you all that before. Her chatting only got interesting when she noticed her having a broken timer like you did.
"Whaddaya mean 'broken'?" You interrupted.
"It's stuck like yours. On ten seconds, if I'm correct," of course she was correct, you had never seen her mistaken you probably never will.
"Cool," you stopped the car in front of the mall and got out, following excitedly skipping Nami to the food booths. "So where's she?"
"Look, there!" She pointed excitedly.
Robin's POV
I look around, slightly worried because I still haven't seen Nami. She did promise to come here but she may have forgotten or something like that.
Then I notice a mane of bright orange hair in the midst of crowd and a bit taller figure next to it, asking something. I stare at her and see how she grins awkwardly and rubs her neck, looking around confusedly until Nami points towards me.
Timer on my hand changes with burning jolt and I find myself staring at her beautiful eyes. Nami raises and hand and struggles to get through the crowd to me.
"Finally," she sighs and pulls me into a quick hug. "How is it possible absolutely everyone in the goddamn country decided to come here today?"
"Probably just your fucking shitty luck," the angel yawns and points over her shoulder with a thumb, "I'll go get coffee, you two have fun" and she disappears again.
