Chapter 12: The Bachelorette's Day

Dillenna Heera's Point of View:

It's weird but I already get used to it, months of not talking to Liam and Amity. I can already picture how boring my wedding day will be, wala si Liam. Wala si Amity. Gusto ko man silang lapitan upang kausapin ay hindi ko nalang ginawa. Takot na akong mareject at masaktan ulit. Hanggang ngayon ay ramdam ko parin ang sakit ng huli naming pag-uusap ni Liam.

"Theon. Hindi ako makakasabay sa'yo ngayon. I'm not going to school."

"Why?"tipid niyang sagot.

"There's a very important stuff I have to attend to."

"What's that exactly?"

"Theon, ano ba? Stop acting like you care about me, okay. I don't like it as much as I don't like you. Let me just spend this day with myself. Everything will change tomorrow. I want to enjoy this last day of being... of being young, single..."

"Get home before 9, okay? Otherwise, I'll drag you from wherever I'll find you. You won't like that. And keep in mind that enjoying this last day doesn't include flirting with guys."

"Whatever Crawford. Pagsabihan mo rin kaya ang sarili mo niyan. Because the last time I checked, ikaw 'tong hinahayaang landiin ng kung sino-sinong babae. Bye."

I prepared all my things including my itinerary for the day. Even without Amity and Liam, magagawa ko parin 'yong mga plano ko kung paano ko i-spend ang last night ko before my wedding. I glanced at my TO-DO LIST. Ano pa ba ang kulang? Mmm.

1. Visit my favorite art gallery.

2. Boating.

3. Flying a chopper.

4. Eat "eww" veggies. :D

5. Buy more books.

6. Star-gazing. (At home...)

7. Sleep in a tent.

Except for 1, 5 and 6, hindi ko pa nagawa 'yong iba ever. I must say I planned all these before with Liam and Amity. Well, they're no longer my friends. And I'm a very strong person. I can do all these things alone. Stop it D, no more thoughts about them. Just enjoy the company of yourself.

I first went to Silverlens Gallery. I only wandered there for an hour. I visited next the Manila Contemporary and last went to the Drawing Room where I spent another two hours. I've purchased some items from the three galleries and have it delivered at home.

It's almost eleven and I've only done the number 1 on the list. Okay! Next will be flying a chopper. Good thing I've called my uncle a week ago. He's the owner of the Masters Flying School. He'll be the one to teach and guide me himself. I thought I will only feel the excitement. No. The moment I stepped inside the chopper, tumatambol 'yong heartbeats ko. I can't almost hear anything other than my abnormally-pacing heartbeats.

"Remember Dillenna, the collective control is for ascending and descending and operate it with your left hand."

"Yes tito. And the cyclic control is for the directions I'm going to head to."

He's got a lot of reminders before he finally decided we take off! This is it!

"Dillenna, open the throttle slowly until you reach proper operating RPM."

I followed his instructions properly. I tried to ignore the rats rattling inside my chest.

"Okay, pull the collective gradually up. Now, push the left pedal. Continue pulling on the collective and depressing the left pedal."
