Chapter 26: The Husband's Day

Dillenna Heera's Point of View:

Guess who won the game? After me cheating the game, we ended canoodling each other. The scrabble board and the flowers witnessed us making love. Afterwards, I lay down on his arm. He inclined his body to one side so he can see me. Out of my knowledge, he took a picture of us again. Pinalo ko 'yong kamay niya nang makita ang mukha ko sa screen. In consequence, he kissed me.

"Ang daya nito!" I retorted.

"Pwede ka namang bumawi. I-kiss mo rin ako."

"Swerte mo!"

He chuckled and suddenly tickled me. I tried to shun his fingers digging my skin but he's so quick. A continuous set of chortles and chuckles filled the room.

"Theon! Stop it!"I hugged him to stop him from tickling me. Tumigil naman siya. "Sa halip na patayin mo 'ko sa ginagawa mo, why won't you tell me something I don't know yet?"

Umayos siya ng higa habang nakahiga parin ako sa braso niya; his hand is caressing my hair and the other hand is holding mine.

"My dad is not my real father."he muttered after a long silence. Napalingon agad ako sa kanya.

"You're joking, aren't you?"

"No.It's true. Nobody else knows aside from the three of us. Dad is impotent. I was seven years old when I found out. I started hating my parents after that."

Niyakap ko siya nang tumigil siya sa pagsasalita. With him confiding me this thing which only them have known, it greatly touched me. I also felt sorry for him though.

"Hey, it was a long time ago already. It doesn't affect me that much at all."he said to comfort me when he looked at me and found out I was teary-eyed.

"Have you known your real father?"I managed to ask.

Umiling siya habang hinigpitan niya 'yong paghawak sa kamay ko.

"Do you still hate your parents Theon?"

Hindi siya sumagot. Nakatitig lang siya sa kawalan. Lalo pang humigpit ang paghawak niya sa kamay ko. It even hurt but I didn't complain. Even if he won't tell me, I knew his answer already.

"I'm sorry. You don't have to answer me. It's alright."I squeezed his hand.

Tumagilid ako para yakapin siya.

"I'm hungry. Let's go back to the house. I'll watch you cook."wika ko para mabago ang mood naming dalawa.

For a moment, he embraced me before we stood up.

"Wag mo 'kong iiwan Dillenna... kahit na kapag may malalaman ka sa pamilya ko."

Kinabahan ako. I can't grasp the reason why I suddenly felt scared. I'm so scared. I don't ever want to leave him especially now that I love him so much already. I just can't imagine what I'm going to do if I'll know something that will hurt me. Nagpatiuna siya pabalik sa bahay. I watched him striding on the lawn towards the house. The things he's just told me have never crossed my mind. It seemed so impossible. I can't believe that with his arrogance and strong personality, he's a weak and pained man deep within.

Tumakbo ako para maabutan siya. I hugged him from his back.

"I love you Theon." I took his hand to intertwine it with mine. "Bring back my sweet arrogant husband, please."

Ngumiti siya sa'kin nang harapin niya ako. He slipped the stray hairs behind my ear and then tweaked my chin. He inclined his head to kiss me. What he did next made me shrieked! He lifted me and carried me towards the kitchen. Yes. I don't have to tell you what we did before he started cooking.
