Chapter 4: The Visitor

Gavin's Point of View:

Nandito na kami sa loob ng gymnasium para sa practice namin. Naghahanda kami for the upcoming Interscholastic Games. Last year, natalo kami sa championship game kaya todo-ensayo kami ngayon lalo na at si Liam Kan na ulit ang captain ball ng team. I don't know what convinced him to go back playing. He quitted for two years after leading the team for four years. Matt, the former captain, was at first mad but because he seemed friends with Liam these past few days, he accepted things peacefully.

BEFORE I PASSED the ball to Theon, my eyes shifted to Dillenna's direction. Liam and Matthew are sitting beside her. She's laughing genuinely at whatever the two are babbling about.

When I returned my gaze at Theon, he already has slipped the ball away from his hands towards her—God knows how fast I ran to catch the ball. I was late. It already hit her right on the head. Matthew and Liam helped her up. We stopped the game for a moment and girded around Heera who seemed dizzy.

"Baby? Are you okay?"sabay na tanong nina Matt at Liam.

Hindi ko sinasadyang tingnan si Theon who's standing beside me. His fists are clenched as his eyes are sternly directed to the men who are holding each of her hand. Nodoby needs to voice it, he's jealous. What could he do now? She is no longer his. Perhaps, he'll just ripped clairvoyantly the admiring eyes of every men who gaze at the breathtaking beauty of his ex-wife.

When the news of their divorce quaked everyone, we anticipated to see the shattered and broken Dillenna Heera. But to our surprise, she quailed our world again when she walked in that day smiling and looking really happy which caught and dazzled everyone at her hotness, gracefullness and beauty.

"Heera! Nasaktan ka ba?"nag-aalalang tanong ko.

To my heart's surprise, she smiled sweetly at me.

"I—I am fine. Let's get the game going guys! Go Gavin! Break a leg, love!"she chirped, still with the carved genuine smile on her lips.

I secretly glanced at Theon who's now clenching his fist and was now heading back to the court.

"Go Gavin! Galingan mo!"sigaw niya ulit.

Hindi ko mapigilang huwag ngumiti kahit alam kong ginagawa lang niya 'yon para inisin si TJ. Nakakunot naman ng noo sina Matthew at Liam na pareho ring tinatapunan ako ng nakakamatay na tingin. Napakamot na lamang akong bumalik na rin sa court.

Matapos ang walang kwentang laro na sinisira ni TJ, coach Kier declared a break dahil napansin niyang mainit ang ulo ng mga players. Hindi naman talaga ng mga players, kay TJ lang.

"Gavin, 'babyboy'. Here."salubong ni Heera sabay abot ng tumbler sa'kin.

Hindi ako nakapalag nang punasan niya 'yong noo ko. Pareho kaming napasinghap nang ihagis ni TJ ang bola sa pinakaibabaw na bleachers at saka lumabas ng gym.

"Are you okay Heera?"wala sa sariling naitanong ko.

"I am."nakangiting tugon niya. "Anyway, napapayag ko na si mommy't daddy. Lilipat na ako sa condo bukas. But there's a problem."

"Ano 'yon?"

"Mom is hiring some security guards again. I have no choice. She made sure naman na hindi sila masyadong bubuntot sa'kin so okay lang."

HABANG nagbibihis kami sa locker room, nilapitan ako nina Bryce at Ayden. Both of them looked really angry.

"What are you doing Gavin?"simula ni Bryce.

"What?"

"You're playing around our friend's wife."matapang na tugon niya.

"Let me correct that. It's ex-wife."

"You're a jerk, Gavin!"naiinis na anas ni Bryce.

Hinawakan siya ni Ayden sa braso para pigilan sa balak niyang sunggaban ako.

"We all are. I'm only helping her move on."

Kahit nagdadalawang isip, tinalikuran ko na sila. Eksaktong pagdating ko ng classroom ay may kumausap kay Heera na isa pang kaklase namin.

"What? Who would look for me all the way from England?"nanlalaki ang mata na tanong niya sa babae.

"I don't know Heera. Ayaw niya kasing sabihin ang pangalan niya. He just asked me to tell you he's waiting. He's in the school cafeteria."tugon ng babaeng kausap niya.

Her brows are now literally meeting. Maya-maya pa ay lumabas siya ng classroom at pumunta sa cafeteria. Ako naman na curious sa kung sino ang naghahanap sa kanya na galing pa umano sa England, ay pasimpleng nakabuntot sa kanya.

Through the glass doors, I saw the familiar stance of a guy waiting on the corner. Shit! It couldn't be him! Hihilahin ko na sana si Heera ngunit nakapasok na siya sa loob. Lalo akong kinabahan. Is he the one looking for her? Do they know each other? I stealthily walked towards the table next to where they are now. Hindi naman niya ako napansin.

"Do I know you?"bungad ni Heera rito.

"Oh! It's an insult. How could you forget me that quick? Can't you remember me? Seriously? I'm nobody—"

"Shit! It's you! How—I mean—What are you—Why are you here? Why are you looking for me?"sunod-sunod na naitanong niya rito.

Muntik na akong mapatayo nang makita ko sa peripheral vision ko na lumapit siya kay Heera. He even tucked a stray lock of hair behind her ears. Napaatras si Heera sa ginawa niya.

"I'm here for two important reasons. First, your angel face is bothering me since that night and I found the need to see you. Pangalawa, maniningil ako. That night, I didn't just lose a phone, there's more that I lost. I'd love to tell you but—"

"You're talking to the wrong person. Hindi ako ang dapat na sinisingil mo. Ako ba ang umapak sa phone mo?"nanggagalaiting singhal ni Heera rito.

"No. But he claimed you as his wife. I suppose you could lead me to him."

Napakuyom ako ng palad. What the fvck are they talking about?

"I'm not anybody's wife."she retorted.

"You were."he murmured and smirked. "Angel-face, I think I have taken much of your time already. I supposed you have your class. See you around."saad nito at tumungo palabas.

Eksaktong nakatayo na ako para lapitan si Heera nang humarap siya sa'min—sa'kin, rather.

"Fuentaverde, it's nice to see you again. Send my regards to the others. It's been a long time."

Hindi ako nakasagot. Pinanood ko lang siya habang naglalakad papalayo.

"Shit! What was that Gavin? It scared the shit out of me! Do you know that arrogant bastard?"walang-kiming tanong niya sa'kin.

"Shit. What was that Heera? What are you two talking about? You can't be talking to him again!"

"Why!?"kunot-noo niyang tanong sa'kin. "Who is he?"

Gusto ko siyang sagutin pero walang lumalabas na salita sa bibig ko. As a response, I wrapped my arms around her.

I was so scared earlier watching her talk to that asshole!
