Chapter 30: The Drive Home

AMITY's POINT OF VIEW:

Kanina pa siya salita ng salita pero hindi ko siya pinapansin. Nakakainis na nga eh. Ang kulit-kulit. Sinaway ko siya kanina pero hindi naman siya tumitigil.

"Akala mo ba hindi ko napapansin? Bryce could even tell the same... Amity, he's not just married. He's married to your bestfriend."

Humigpit ang hawak ko sa manibela. I wasn't able to stop myself from bursting out. I stopped the car and sobbed on the steering wheel.

"Hey. I didn't mean to hurt you. I'm worried about what might happen to you and Dillenna. I've seen how close you are to each other."

He moved in closer to me and pulled me to him. I just found myself next sobbing on his chest.

"Pinilit ko naman talagang kalimutan siya. Pero para akong mababaliw. Palagi ko siyang naiisip. Masama bang mahalin siya nang walang nakakaalam maliban sa'kin? Hindi na naman ako umaasang mahalin niya rin ako kasi alam kong imposible."

He tautened his embrace and somehow, I feel comforted.

"I'm sorry."I muttered as I pulled myself away from him.

"It's alright. I have been watching you since then, Amity. I've seen the way you looked at TJ. Pero alam mo, hindi mo naman siya kailangang kalimutan. You only have to let go the feelings, not the person himself. Kahit anong gawin mo, bahagi na siya ng buhay mo."

His words and concern touched me. Everyone knows he's the most silent in their circle. I must have been the only one to hear him say things as long as that. Bahagya akong napangiti.

"Thanks Ayden."

"You can count on me. And don't worry, your secret's safe with me."

Napangiti ako sa sinabi niya. He volunteered to drive the car afterwards. Dahil likas na sa kanya ang pagiging makulit, napa-oo niya akong kumain muna bago tuluyang umuwi.

"Ang akala ko ba ay kakain tayo?"

"Yes. But that will be after our adventure here."

Tama bang dalhin niya ako sa Enchanted Kingdom? Pinilit niya na naman ako and this time ay para sumakay ng rides. I did and I'm proud to say, I survived all the rides he dared. Tumatawa kami habang pabalik sa kotse nang madatnan naming nakasandal doon si Liam.

"Am I just seeing things?"he started.

Napatingin naman agad ako kay Ayden na nakakunot na ang noo.

"Anong problema mo Kan?"matapang na umpisa niya kay Liam.

Liam smirked at him annoyingly. Nagulat na lang ako nang akbayan ako ni Ayden. Liam's jaw clenched and his brows almost met.

"Get your hand off her. Ang galing niyo ring magkakaibigan. Ano 'to? Lahat ng mga kaibigan ko, papatusin niyo?"

"Liam! What are you talking about!?"I retorted at his statements.

To my surprise, he grabbed me from his hold.

"Liam! You're hurting me!"

"Bitiwan mo siya. Narinig mo diba? You're hurting her."

I stood dumbfounded when Liam abruptly threw his punch on Ayden's face. What are these jerks doing! They're making a scene!

"Tumigil kayo! Ano ba! Liam! Liam!! Stop it!"

Ayden tried to punch him back but he's already choking him. I tried to pull him away from Ayden but he's so strong. Sa sobrang inis at takot ko ay kinagat ko ang braso niya. I succeeded though. He stopped and grabbed me towards his car instead.

"Liam! Ano'ng ginagawa mo!!!??? Sira ulo ka ba ha? Muntik mo ng patayin 'yong tao!"

"Amity! You've known what happened to Heera! I can't let it happen to you because of that circle of jerks!"

"Walang ginagawa 'yong tao! Sira ka ba? Ano bang nangyayari sa'yo? Nakakahiya ka!"

Halos humiwalay na sa'kin ang kaluluwa ko nang maramdamang may bumundol sa kotse niya. Napatingin ako sa side mirror and found the head of my car! No! Not my baby! Ayden sped up and bumped the car we're in to the other side of the road.

"Shit! I'm really going to kill this jerk!"

"Liam, just stop the car!" Hindi siya nakinig sa'kin. He jerked his car to mine. Isang kotse ang muntik pa'ng bumangga kay Ayden at napasigaw ako. "Liam, tumigil ka! Ihinto mo ang kotse! Kapag hindi ka hihinto ay tatalon ako!"

He listened to me this time and he stopped the car to the side of the road. I alighted immediately when he halted. Nagmamadali akong lumakad sa kung saan ay hindi ko alam. Naiinis ako! Nanginginig parin 'yong tuhod ko sa ginagawa nila kanina!

"Amity!"

"Back off Liam! Wag mo 'kong susundan kung gusto mo pang maalala ko ang pangalan mo!"

I reached a bridge. I'm breathing heavily so I stopped. I rested my head on my knees as I hugged myself. Tumutulo 'yong luha ko nang walang tigil. I was so scared.

"Amity..."

I held my head up and met Ayden's eyes. Tumayo agad ako at pinalo siya sa dibdib.

"Ano sa tingin mo ang ginagawa mo? Nababaliw ka na ba ha? You don't know how much it scared me! Ayden! Takot na takot ako!"

"I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry."sunod-sunod na bulong niya habang niyayakap ako ng mahigpit. "I was just so furious of him dragging you like you're his girl. Whatever happened to Dillenna and Theon, I have no plans of doing it to you. He can't just judge me like that just because I'm TJ's friend. We're different!"

"Just drive me home, Ayden."
