Chapter 22: The Surprises

Dillenna Heera's Point of View:

"Nanay Lucy, we're home."he cheerfully chirped as we got in.

Sinalubong niya kami ng isang matamis na ngiti. Kumunot naman kaagad ang noo niya nang dumapo ang tingin niya sa kamay na hawak-hawak ko.

"Ay. Sinuntok niya kasi 'yong gate sa bahay nay. Buti narin sa kanya 'yan at nang malaman niyang hindi naso-solve ang problema sa pakikipag-away at pananakit."

"Wow. I'm so proud of my wife. She has just grown up."

"Shut up!"I shrieked at him and then faced Nanay Lucy. "Pwede niyo po bang kunin ang medicine kit nay?"

Agad naman siyang tumalikod sa'min at patakbong pumunta sa kusina. Naupo kaming dalawa sa sala habang hinihintay na makabalik si Nanay Lucy.

"Dillenna, do you like the house?"he asked out of the void.

"Ba't mo naitanong?"

"Hindi mo kasi ako sinamahan no'ng pinapili tayo nina mommy ng bahay. Nahihirapan akong pumili. Hindi kasi ako sigurado kung magugustuhan mo 'yong pipiliin ko."

"To be honest, I like it. No, I love it Theon. Feeling ko nga alam mo 'yong dream house ko eh! Anyway, hindi ko pa nalibot ang bahay. But so far, what I love most is the tree house. It's a bit too big than the tree house I dreamt when I was little. But I realized, it's not just for me."

"I'm glad to know. Hayaan mo, wala naman tayong ibang gagawin. We have whole day para libutin ang bahay. And yes, I have something to show you. I'm supposed to tell you about it on our first day after the wedding but you were so mad at me."

"Sorry. Lagi ko kasing naiisip 'yong sinabi mo no'ng wedding day. Na hindi mo na naman talaga gustong pakasalan ako. Naiinis tuloy ako kapag nakikita kita."I confessed.

Matapos gamutin ang sugat niya ay ipinagluto niya ako. I just watched him cook. Sinusulyapan niya ako habang nagluluto siya at saka ako nginingitian. Feeling ko, nagmimistula ng kamatis 'yong pisngi ko. Matapos kumain ay parang sira na tinakpan niya 'yong mga mata ko ng handkerchief.

Nang tanggalin niya ang panyo ay diretso akong naiyak sa nakikita ko. Niyakap ko agad siya ng mahigpit.

I looked around again. The presence of the bookshelves and the thousands books around me is really making me purely joyous. I glanced at the round table in the middle of the bookshelves where James Patterson's books are arranged perfectly.

Napahawak ako sa bibig ko nang makita ang dulo ng kwarto. Binalingan ko si Theon na nakangiting nakatitig sa'kin.

"I love it so much."I mouthed at him.

You wouldn't believe me. It's a replica of the MV Logo's Hope. Maliit nga lang siya, just enough to fill one big room. Mas namangha ako nang pumasok ako at makita ang napakarami pang aklat sa loob. I know my husband is a billionaire but I still can't believe he has spoiled me with thousands of books which all costed more than a billion. I ran back towards him and hugged him.

"Thank you Theon. It's perfect. It's even beyond perfect."

"You don't have to cry."asar niya habang pinunasan ang pisngi ko. He smacked a kiss on my lips and embraced me. "I'm so happy watching you Dillenna. I'm glad you love it."

"Wait Theon. Nasa loob parin ba tayo ng bahay natin?"

He chuckled. "Of course!"

He took my hand and led me out of the room. We climbed upstairs and reached a room full of—

"Theon!!!! No! Noooo! You didn't just—How did you know about these?"

I'm now inside my walk-in closet filled with all the designer clothes, shoes and stuffs I love most. Just like I planned my dream house, there's a secret door in my walk-in closet that leads to the basement where books are waiting for me, it's where I have been just lately.

"Liam told me about the secret library. Amity told me about the walk-in closet."

"You connived with my friends! You're crazy, Theon."

"Well, it's all worth it. Seeing you this happy is priceless."

"Kaya pala ayaw mong ibigay sa'kin ang mga susi."

He smiled and hugged me once more.

"I just really love you. Ang sarap pala sa pakiramdam kapag nasasabi mo ang nararamdaman mo. Dati Dillenna, parang sasabog 'yong dibdib ko habang tinatago ko lahat kapag kasama kita."

Tinawanan ko siya.

"Thank you Theon. You don't know how happy you've made me."

Pinaghahampas-hampas ko siya ng Baymax na stuff toy nang dalhin niya ako sa isa pang silid. Sira-ulo talaga siya. Nagtatawanan kaming pareho habang pinagmamasdan ang kabuuan ng silid. It's the perfect Nursery room ever, just the way I've envisaged it.

"And love, can you check your wallet for me."

"My wallet?"

I ran to towards the room to check it. Nooooo! One week kong kasama ang wallet ko and yet, I haven't known what's waiting for me in there.

"Japan. Why Japan?"

"Because it's the same ticket I've given your parents."

"What? You're the culprit behind their sudden disappearance?"

"I'm sorry, baby. Now, when will we follow them there?"

"As soon as you'll prove me that none of these is just a dream."

He caressed my face with his both hands. Slowly and gently, he kissed me. As the kiss deepened, I can't ignore the burning sensation gushing through my body. He placed his hands around my waist as he continued kissing me affectionately. Everything baffled me instead. If this is how he wants to prove me I'm not dreaming, he's done it the wrong way. It made me think even more that I'm just sleeping, dreaming that I am married happily with a loving husband, a perfect dream house, a magnanimously amazing secret library with a replica of the largest floating library in the world, a humongous walk-in closet, an adorable nursery room and a fairytale-like tree house. I want to live this dream, being married happily ever after.
