Chapter 17: The Beautiful Escape

Nakabuntot sa'kin si Gavin papunta sa parking space.

"You're not seriously coming with that guy, are you?"simula niya.

"Why not? We're friends—"

"Heera. You can't be possibly hanging out with him nor with his friends."

"Enlighten me. I once asked you about Damon but you didn't tell me anything. Now that they have become my friends, I don't think I can listen to whatever reason you're going to tell me."I replied straightforwardly. "I'm so sorry Gavin." I whispered after kissing him on the cheek.

Without looking back, I strided towards Chase who is leaning on his car—as always, looking unbelievably handsome and hot.

"Are you alright?"panimula niya nang makalapit na ako sa kanya.

"Yeah. I don't know who told Jed about what happened. Now that he knew, I can't claim my reward. No choice. I have to drive you home."

I arched my brows at him.

"Why are you scared of Damon?"

"I'm not scared of him. We are all like this to one another. That's what we call, respect, goddess."

"But I don't want to go home yet."I tempted.

"What are you doing, goddess? Oh please!"He lifted his arms in defeat and chuckled. "I can't believe you're making me do this."

TINAWANAN KO SIYA habang nagmamaneho siya papunta sa kung saan ay hindi ko alam. Ang bilis ng takbo namin but I don't feel any fright. He looked so cool and confident while he drives. Kaya naman, I feel so secured and safe riding with him who drives dangerously.

After almost an hour of travel, we came to a halt in front of a very beautiful house. Kung ang mansion ni Damon ay nasa beachside, nasa maliit naman na hill ang sa kanya. When I reached the balcony, I can see perfection again as I fixed my gaze at the river where hundreds of swans are gracefully whirling.

"It's breathtakingly beautiful, Chase! Oh my gosh! Can you take a picture of me? With the river as the background?"

"Sure."nakangiting tugon niya sabay kuha ng phone niya sa kanyang bulsa.

I was supposed to offer my phone but I was perhaps very excited, so I instead started smiling as I stroke a pose.

"Perfect. You're perfectly glamorous."he murmured while he showed me the shots.

It's really perfect. The picture I'm looking at right now looked perfectly as it is in reality. The river is so perfect and I must say, the swans made everything more enchanting.

"Loving the view, goddess? Sorry, but we ain't staying here. Let's go. I have called for a reservation for our lunch date already. And it's already quarter eleven."

Even with my objecting heart, I just followed him. We went to a basement. There, I was greeted with more than five cars gleaming at me beyond comparison. Ang gaganda! I'm not into this kind of stuff but I can't help admiring how luxurious and elegant they look!

"Loving the view again? I'm sorry, love, but we aren't going to ride any of them today."he muttered and drew close to the corner of the room and uncovered something. "Here, milady, meet the darling of my life."he said referring to the big bike which looked gloriously beautiful and extremely expensive.

"Have you tried riding one, goddess?"

Napailing ako. I haven't. And if I haven't met him, I would still tell myself I'm never going to ride one, ever! I used to believe that these bikes are risky.
