Chapter 27: His Angel, Her Demon, Her Comfort

There's only one place that could really make me temporarily forget all the heartaches and pains. It's where I'm heading to now. Pagpasok ko agad ng bahay, sinalubong niya kaagad ako. Yumakap ako agad sa kanya't humagulhol sa dibdib niya.

"Angel, what happened?"he asked as he lifted my chin to meet his gaze.

Umiling ako. He held me close to him and I felt next is his kiss on my forehead. Lumalakas ang mga hikbi ko.

"It's hurting me, angel. With you crying, it's not a sight to see. If I will watch you like this, it will break me. Please angel. Please give me this chance to make you happy. To make you forget. Nahihirapan na akong magbulag-bulagan sa tunay na nararamdaman mo."saad ni Damon na lalong nagpaiyak sa'kin.

Gusto kong lumimot. I want to be myself again. I want to be happy. On my heels, I reached for him and hugged him tight.

"Take me anywhere, Damon."I whispered while I still held him in my embrace. "I want to escape from this place... from this pain. Ang sakit-sakit na kasi."

Later that afternoon, he woke me up to show me a surprise. Hindi pa ako tuluyang nagising nang tanggapin ko ang iniabot niya sa'kin.

"...Hawaii."I read loudly. "Tickets to Hawaii? What will you do there?"nagtatakang tanong ko sa kanya na nagpagising sa'kin.

"Let me rephrase that question. It should be, what will we do there?"nakangiting tugon pa niya.

Contrary to what I felt this morning, excitement filled my heart.

"We're going to Hawaii? We're going to Hawaii??? Hawaii???"I exclaimed in pure disbelief.

Nakangiti lang si Damon habang tinitigan niya ako. Yeah? Seriously? Hawaii? I gazed at the tickets in my hand again. Hawaii?

"So, are you going to show me that place you own there?"tanong ko sa kanya.

Naikwento niya kasi sa'kin minsan. Nakita ko kasi ang isang picture ng bahay na pinapalibutan ng tubig. It's not an island if that's what you are thinking. The house itself is surrounded with pools. It's really amazing. He then told me he owned it but it's in Hawaii. And yeah, we're going there!

"Look Demon. I'm so happy to have you. You keep on making me happy. Thank you. But—"

"Hey. No buts, Angel. I'm not asking for anything in return."he cut me off.

In response to what he said, I embraced him.

"Thank you so much, Demon. Thank you for letting me in this place. It's really making me forget things for a while."mahinang sambit ko habang yakap ko parin siya.

"I think, I'll have to get home tonight Damon. I'll tell mom and dad about the unbelievable-Hawaii-trip. And I'll stay there for the night as well. I missed them."I told him while we were eating ice cream.

I'm sorry. It's really raining outside. It's really cold. But I am craving, okay? Ito na nga yata 'tong simula ng mga irrational cravings ko. Ganyan naman 'yong mga buntis di ba?

"Ewww."anas ni Damon when I dipped the fresh carrot to the ice cream and happily ate it.

"It's yummy. Try it."

Umiling siya at lumayo sa'kin nang akmang susubuan ko siya.

"OA mo. Sarap kaya? Di ba, baby?"sambit ko sabay hawak sa tummy kong hindi pa naman talaga lumalaki.
