Chapter 42- When is my turn?

Jared’s POV (First ever POV nya guys. Let’s give him a round of applause. XD)

“WHAT?!” ang una kong pambungad nung sinabi sakin ni mommy ang unexpected na balita.

“Yes.”

“Bakit nyo sya pinauwi?!” inis kong tanong.

“Because it’s time for you guys to know each other, you know! You’re already engaged for heaven’s sake Jared!” mom shouted. “This discussion is done, Jared. You’ll pick her up tomorrow at the airport. You can’t say no and I won’t let you say no and you have got nothing to do but to say yes, Jared.” Umupo na ulit sya sa harap ng office table nya. ang work-a-holic nya. hanggang dito sa bahay may opisina pa sya.

“You can’t just decide, mom.”

Tumingin sya sakin, “Yes I can, son. I’m your mother. As long as you are living in my house, you will follow everything I ask you to do.” Then nagsimula na syang magpirma sa papeles na nakalapag sa table nya.

“Fine. Then be it! I’m leaving.” Tumalikod na ako pero napatigil ako sa sunod na sinabi ni mommy.

“You can’t and I know you won’t.”

I turn around again, “And why the hell I can’t?” I asked, pissed.

“Let’s put it down this way, Jared. You can just stay here with me and your dad and marry Ann. Or you can just go and leave this house bringing nothing with you. If you think your card will be there to support you, but you’re wrong. Heck I’m gonna cut all your cards.” Pagbabanta nya. “Now choose, my son. It’s now or never.”

“Seriously mom?”

“What? I’m just doing you a favour. Every man has a power to choose.” She smirked.

My mom is really smart. She knows I can’t live all alone by myself… unlike Rev. pero kung pipiliin kong magstay dito, parang pinili ko na ding tapusin ang relasyon namin ni Kylie. Mahal ko naman si Kylie… pero mukhang hindi muna ito ang tamang oras para samin.

The next day, umabsent ako sa school para sunduin si Ann… or Kona sa pagkakakilala nyo. I’ve known her for a year already. Pero last year lang kami pinagkasundo sa marriage na ito. She’s nice, pretty and finesse. She has long, straight, shiny black hair. Matangkad ako sa kanya pero mukhang ka-height nya si Kylie. And yes, magkahawig sila.

She is Ann Gonzales. Ang babaeng sobang puti at mahinhin na kapag nagsalita ay parang nasa bundok ang kausap. Sabog sya at masayahin, friendly din sya. May pagka-prangka din sya pero most of the time, pinipili na lang nyang tumahimik… pero promise, madaldal sya.

We don’t have a ring yet. Talagang pinagkasundo lang kami ng mga magulang namin. Hindi ko alam kung anong relasyon ng pamilya ko sa pamilya nila basta ang alam ko bago sya sa paningin ko.
