Headcannon- KrakenKid and the Broadsword

Another headcannon! I came with this one a while ago so I thought I'd share my thoughts!

So, I know I've brought up that one big battle where KrakenKid "dies" more than once, but then this occurred to me.

Getting killed, or almost killed, has got to kinda traumatic, which has been something I've touched base with. In the past, I have written about KrakenKid having nightmares about that, but then I got reminded of another thing.

KrakenKid was "killed" with Joe's Broadsword by Cody. So here's my thought,

What if seeing the sword beings up bad memories for him?

I could imagine it going either in a smaller way, or in an intense way.

What I mean by smaller is this: Maybe one day Cody has to move the sword or something so he has it with him and then while Kraken is around, he has to use it again, or just is holding it out for comfort. KrakenKid spots it and maybe flinches away from it or jumps. It takes Cody a minute to realize why and then he quickly puts it away. They might be rivals, but he's not cruel enough to do that. Maybe whenever he sees it, he avoids looking at it or gets jumpy or antsy. He just finds himself uneasy around it in general.

Or a bigger reaction. He sees it and goes into a full on episode, having a flashback and has trouble getting out of it. KrakenKid has trouble realizing what is and isn't real for a moment, even after snapping out of it. Maybe the only way he can get out of it is someone telling him everything's going to be okay.

Wow, this turned dark fast.

I'm really tempted to turn this into a Comfort Fic right now. I might do that.

Another headcannon with some feels! I should really make a more fluffy one to even it out...
