When Cody was lost, Professor Pikalus poured himself into one thing: His final words.
They didn't make sense.
Work seemed to be the best way to deal with it. It distracted him, kept his mind busy, anything to make the pain go away, even for a second.
Feelings... Professor had never been good at those. They never worked logically and rarely had a pattern or trick to dealing with them.
He tried everything the internet and his friends did to cure sadness. He surrounded himself with people, ate sweets, watched movies and even let himself cry endlessly, but nothing ever worked. Those feelings: Sadness, guilt, despair, confusion and feeling lost? They never went away.
Why did they never go away?
So work would have to do. It was the only thing that remotely worked.
His friends and family started to worry. They hasn't seen him outside of the lab in weeks, and he locked himself away. His phone always went straight to voicemail, and now his answering machine was full. Was he even alive? They had half a mind to blow up the door just to check on him.
But Professor kept at it. He researched all over the web, over Atlantis ancient books, everything he could possibly find, even stealing Poseidon's personal book of secrets, but none of it worked.
"No!" He cried out, throwing most of his papers off the desk and let them fly everywhere. He didn't even care that some landed on him as he buried his face in his arms. "It doesn't make sense! What does it mean? What does it mean?"
Cody's words echoed in his mind for the hundredth time. The final words he said before he disappeared off the face of the planet.
"Stay frosty."
"WHAT DOES IT MEAN?" He screamed in agony.
