Later That Night
I woke up to crying coming from the nursery. I stood up, without even looking if Seth was asleep, and walked to the nursery. As I walked closer as I heard a voice.
"Cmon Emery, please go back to bed baby girl."
I heard Seth said. I peered into the nursery as I saw him rocking the wailing baby.
"Shhh. Daddy is right here Em. Please just go back to bed. I don't wanna wake your mommy up."
He said as I sighed. My heart broke watching this.
"Here, I got her."
I said, walking into the nursery and take Emery out of Seth's arms. Within minutes I had her back to sleep. I walked back into the bedroom and laid next to Seth.
"What am I doing wrong?"
Seth asked me.
"What do you mean?"
"Well you had Em back to sleep in no time and I can barley change her diaper."
Seth said. It broke my heart, hearing him put himself down.
"Babe, you have to realize that I have experience. You don't. You will get better in time. Do you think I could've put Aria to sleep that quickly the first night she was home? Definitely not. You'll get better. I promise."
I said. He kissed me as he wrapped his arms around me and we fell asleep.
