Trick Or Treat

The tower was decorated in autumn colors and decorations for the fall. Also Halloween was soon approaching and you were getting ready to decorate the outside of the tower for trick or treaters to come by.

It was a tradition you started several years ago. You'd dress up yourself and the outside of the tower sitting and passing out candy to the kids and act like they truly were whoever they were dressed up as. Normally you did it all yourself, but some of your Avenger family would help set up since most the time they had missions. When they didn't sometimes they would go to visit family, others would just stay at the tower and go down to check on you occasionally. Several years Steve would stay out there with you, but this year he would be one of the few team-mates on a mission. This year would be a little bit different though.

"Steeeviee... Did you get those bags of candy for me?" You said as you worked on the last bits of your costume.

"Yeah they're in the lobby. Don't worry, I told everyone they were yours." He laughed.

"Umm what's that's supposed to mean?" You looked up at him.

"Let's just say you're my super sweet sister, but you mean business. You can be scary sometimes."

You just laughed rolling your eyes , "Boo."

"I'm glad your an honorary Rogers kid." He laughed again walking to another room.

The days were going by fast. It was the week before Halloween, and you had everything ready. The outside looked marvelous, and you were ready to show off your home made costume. To waste time youo watched a lot of classic Halloween movies, well Hocus Pocus anyway.

Then the day finally came. You were ready to see all the kids in their costumes. You were getting ready in your room and you finished by putting on your wig and accessories. You loved it. It was conservative and cute. You decided to be Star Butterfly because you got so absorbed in the show somehow. You even made her wand and had a little lab puppy with you.

When you walked out to go to the lobby one Avenger looked at you curiously sightly smirking and blushing simultaneously trying to look away. He then went back to his own room.

You were surprised to already see several children waiting for candy dressed up in their own costumes.

"Oh my goodness, a puppy, can we see him Y/n?" You smiled and let the kids pet Dodger, Steve's puppy, since your golden retriever Dug was upstairs probably well probably with Clint or someone else. After they pet Dodger I put him in a dog bed beside me sitting down.

You'd seen so many children in outfits of all kinds it still surprised you when some of them came dressed up as you. You'd blush when they'd dress up as your favorite soldier most of all. Not Steve. No. Not Sam. Yes you undoubtedly had a crush on one James Barnes... Just like how he felt when he saw you as you went down to the lobby a couple hours before. Of course neither of you knew.

Oh the little children were your favorites. They made these big exaggerated stories that made you smile. Of course you always asked if you could give them a hug and once their moms and dads agreed you scooped them up and normally got a picture with them. You also noticed that you were on your tenth bag of jumbo candy. I guess that's what happens when you live with superheroes and word spread that you're passing out candy.

Eventually there was a point when the amount of trick or treaters drastically went down. You kinda just sat their anticipating more to come at any moment. That's when you heard a familiar hum. One that belonged to you're crush. You stared forward and heard him pull a chair beside yours.

"So... I thought I'd check on you. Maybe stay the rest of the night if that's okay." He said looking at you.

"Oh why thanks, and I'm doing alright." You looked at him, "you could've at least tried to dress up in something." You joked playfully punching him.

That's when a group of kids walked up and one girl paused them all. "Oh. My. Goodness. You guys are by far one of the cutest couples costumes I've seen so far."

A boy then stepped beside her looking at her like she said the stupidest thing. "Cay they aren't a couple's costume. He isn't even wearing anything." The girl just stared back at him angrily.

"Wouldn't you know Jake. It's obvious they're a costume couple. They obviously ship Starco so y/n is Star Butterfly and Bucky is Marco Diaz. It's so simple and yet so cute."

You looked confused and pushed it aside. "Sorry about her. Trick or treat?" Jake walked up and you gave them all there candy. 

As soon as they left you turned around and looked at Bucky. That's when you realized he could be seen as Marco. He had on a red hoodie and his hair was considerably shorter not like it was in WW2 though. He also had on brown sweatpants.

"Bucky... Did anybody make you wear all that?" You asked.

"No they're just clothes I wore today."

Okay... "Um Bucky do you know who they were taking about just then?"

He didn't say anything so you assumed he didn't which relieved you and disappointed you at the same time. You wanted him to know, but you also didn't want him to know. Your mind was just crazy you supposed.

Unfortunately now with Bucky here almost each time if they were old enough a kid would say you were both Star and Marco. I mean you loved his company , but you just wished you could say that you were in a couple's costume not only so you wouldn't have to disappoint people, but so it could actually mean something. So you both could maybe be together. If he wanted anyways.

The night overall was fun though. You passed out candy let people take pictures with you, Bucky, and Dodger. People pet Dodger as they told stories and you shared some of your own. By now late into the night you were down to your last bag of candy. Bucky helped pass it out and occasionally both your hands would lightly touch causing you to blush while acting like it never happened.

"Well that was fun." You smiled making your way back to Bucky. "Thanks for staying with me tonight."

He walked closer smiling equally as much as you. "No problem. And doll? You know how they kept saying we looked like that Star and Marco thing? Truth was I knew the whole time and I did this on my own because it was a quick costume that could match to the gal's he adores."

You looked at him shocked, "So you ship Starco too? Why didn't you tell me you liked the show? We could've watched it together?"

He walked even closer grabbing your hands., "Well I guess I do as you say ship them, but what I was trying to get at is I ship us even more."

You looked at him in shock, "You ship us?" You whispered. He nodded his head.

"I ship us." He smiled. This made you happy so you pulled him to you and kissed him quickly letting go exclaiming, "Well I hellicarrier us!"

He shook his head laughing as he entwined his hand with yours picking up the few extra things as you carried Dodger. You looked to him and smiled, "Will you become apart of my Halloween tradition Buckybear?"

"I'll be apart of any and every tradition you want, as long as I get to spend it with you doll." He squeezed your hand and you both walked in planning to cuddle and watch a movie together in each other's arms long overdue.
