A Quiet Confession

A present day Bucky of sorts. No infinity war. History same, expect Peggy went on the plane with Steve and survived too. You also were Steve and Bucky's lifelong friend who survived all those years due to powers you had and didn't know about till they were both gone, and you noticed that you weren't aging like your friends. Maybe your from Asgard, not quite sure. That's up for you to decide.

Your POV:
I can't believe it. Steve and Peggy finally tied the knot after all these years. They are so happy. Currently everyone is at the reception. I was weirdly placed facing away from the dance floor. Steve knows exactly how much I love to dance seeing that we have been lifelong friends. Well I guess I'd just have to turn my chair around like it's something so hard.

I was sat at the table alone. I suppose everyone that is sitting with me are either mingling, eating, or dancing. Save for Nat who just sat down in front of me.

"Enjoying yourself?" She laughed.

"I guess. I really want to dance, but I don't want to."

"What does that even mean y/n?"

"Oh I don't know Nat. Look around. Everyone is happy together. Pretty much everyone is with someone happy like you and Clint. I guess I just want that."

Nat looked stunned, "You mean, you y/f/n, who said she never wanted to date, get married, have kids, or do any of that stuff.... Wants exactly that.. to date and all."

"I don't know maybe... I guess I'm a little jealous... I mean I remember the day Steve, Bucky, and I talked about it all. I was always saying the same thing like now. Steve wanted so much, a wife and kids. Bucky really didn't say anything. Not sure why. Now Steve is married and I just... Maybe I want that."

Nat looked past me then smiled back at me.

I felt someone tap my shoulder, and I looked behind me to see Bucky standing there in his nice tux. He still had the long hair, but he finally shaved off that beard.

"Y/n... May I have this dance?" He extended his hand down to me and smiled radiantly.

"Why of course." I took his hand and he led me to the dancefloor. He didn't dance though. He turned around to Steve and nodded. What did I get myself into?

The music began to play. It... It was a song I had just recently discovered. It was the version I first heard it in and love. Though I was shocked to say the least. It was Perfect by Ed Sheeran, however the version I listen to was done by Pentatonix.

"Doll, don't just stand there. Let's dance. I know you can cause Steve's ma and mine made us join you with your dance class. Just feel the music and let's enjoy our time."

I nodded and placed my hand on his new bionic arm. Then I held his other hand.

I found a love for me

I closed my eyes and swayed with the music.

Bucky twirled me and then wrapped me in his arms as we continued to sway for a moment.

I span out of his arms still holding onto his metal hand. Then we rejoined and waltzed around the dancefloor.

He dipped me in a half circle before bringing me back to his arms.

I just stared at him in shock again for a moment, and he only smiled back.

He picked me up and spun me in the air again causing me to laugh before putting me back down.

We continued to waltz, and I closed my eyes getting lost in this moment.

Well I found a woman, stronger than anyone I know
She shares my dreams, I hope that someday I'll share her home

He pulled me close and we just swayed to the music again. I felt him rub my back, and I leaned into his shoulder.

I found a love, to carry more than just my secrets
To carry love, to carry children of our own

I heard him begin to sing.

That's when I felt him kiss the top of my head.

We waltzed around more before he began to sing again.

He stopped us in the middle of the floor, and I looked around noticing that we were the only ones on the floor. After all that I felt like my heart was in my throat. I felt him lift my chin up.

"Y/n this is... This is my quiet confession. This song represents how I feel. I love you, and I've missed you. I've been gone for to long. I never got to tell you all those decades ago just how much I love you. Now that we're here together again here it is. I love you so much darlin'."

"I love you too James."

"I always loved when you called me James."

Before I could say anything he placed his lips on my own. He was delicate with me. He pulled me close wrapping his arms around my waist. I wrapped my own around his neck. It's like we were the only ones there, but when we broke the kiss, I noticed all the people clapping for us.

"Maybe we should go sit down for a bit because all these people are looking at us, and well it is Steve and Peggy's wedding..." Bucky grabbed my hand.

"Of course, besides I'm really hungry."

"Me too."

"The dorks unite!" Sam jokingly yelled.

"Shut up Sam!" We jokingly yelled back sitting down and eating the delicious food.
