Don't Do That Again

Your pov:

I was getting ready for bed so I was currently getting things for the shower. I sang and danced to the music playing quietly as to not disturb my next door neighbor Bucky. He had the room right next to mine in the tower. Well technically it was his and my floor. I had no idea why they choose me to share a floor with him other than maybe me having a calming thing about myself. That's what they said. Well technically it's because they knew I loved him, just I didn't want to scare him off or ruin our growing friendship. He was my hero and still is.

I finally got the temperature right and jumped in letting the water hit my back. I continued to sing and dance, and the next thing I knew I was falling. I tried to grab onto the curtain and saw the rod coming down. That's when it all went black.

Bucky's POV:

I was in my bathroom shaving again when I heard y/n's voice. She was singing doing who knows what. I take that back she was taking a shower.

This girl managed to steal my heart and drive me crazy filling my thoughts only with her. I would do anything to make sure she was safe. She managed to pull me out of my dark days and gave me a reason to look forward to waking up every day. It's cliche but true. The only problem is she's not mine and I'm not hers. I haven't had the courage to ask her out something Steve said the old me would've already done and stole her heart like she did mine. I know he was just trying to make me laugh, but he should know that that Bucky isn't coming back. I just don't know how to become him. I decided a while ago that it was best that I just started fresh.

I finished shaving and just stood there for a minute listening to her sing. Then I heard her scream. I ran out my room and into hers. I tried to open the door to the bathroom, but it was locked. How many times all I going to have to tell her to stop locking that confound door. I'm not a creeper and I don't plan on going into her bathroom unless something like this happens.

I kicked the door open and ran inside. The curtain covered her body and she was  knocked out. I turned off the shower and put towels on her. I picked her up and immediately ran to the medical floor of the tower.

"She fell in the shower." I told Bruce knowing he would ask what happened. I put her on a table and he told me to leave. Steve, Nat, and Clint came in soon after.

"Is n/n okay?"

"I don't know she just fell and..." I couldn't breathe. I felt Nat wrap her arms around me trying to calm me.

"It's okay Buck. Y/n is going to be fine, besides she has the hero she's always needed to take care of her when she wakes up."

"Who is that?"

"It's you Bucky. We know you love her and we know she's loved you for a long time. You were her hero since she was a little girl and you're her hero now."

"Really?"

"Yeah Buck. Look if you need us call, but we're going to go ahead and go alright."

I watched them leave and I was in shock. I was her hero? I still am? How... I have no idea. I remember sitting there alone waiting my thoughts flooding everywhere.

"Sorry it took so long Bucky, but she is fine. We're surprised she didn't break anything. She only got a mild concussion. You can see her now." I nodded and followed him to where y/n was lying.

Your POV:

I looked up and saw my Buckybear. The man who saved me. I mean yeah I fell in the shower and would've been fine, but he came like the Knight in shining armor he is.

"Bucky." I smiled "thank you for saving me... You didn't ummm see me.."

"Without clothes no. The curtain covered you and towels did when I carried you."

I sighed in relief glad that he honored what I said. It was in fact a couple of week ago with we talked about things like marriage and dating. How I'd never kissed or dated anyone, and how I wanted to save myself for marriage for the one special man in my life and I didn't want anyone to see my body in that way until after marriage as well. Which hopefully one day would be him that I could say I dated, kissed, and married. He respected me and for that I blushed.

"Thank you again." I smiled and motioned for him to sit on the bed with me.

I watched him get in and prop himself up. I naturally laid my head on his chest, and he played with my hair.

"You have no idea how scared I was y/n. I know you only fell in the shower, but you scared me anyway. Please don't ever try to do that again whatever caused you to fall. I don't know what I'd do if I couldn't see your face, the way you smile after reading or watching a good movie, the way your hair feels through my fingers, in a non creepy way, when you laugh if I do something stupid, then I laugh back cause you did something equally stupid, how you nag me to always shave, being able to hear you and your soft words, your bright personality, and your beautiful voice and heart. Y/n I haven't had the courage to say this until now but I love you and would really love for you to be my gal."

"And I'd love for you to be my man. You're already my hero. I love you James. Did I tell you I love that name just as much as I love the name Bucky and the person who owns that name?"

"I think I like hearing you say my real first name doll."

"Bucky..."

"Yeah?"

"Can we go home now?"

"Of course we can Princess."

Before I could say anything he carried me bridal style to our floor level. He let me change into my PJs and him in his. I walked into his room and got in his bed cuddling into his warm form.

"Buckybear... I promise to never dance in the shower again."

I heard him chuckle as I felt the vibrations from his chest. I was happy Bucky was mine and I was his. He is who I've been dreaming about all my life, a man like him and I'm right here in his arms. He rubbed my back kissing the top of my head before we both fell into a deep peaceful sleep.
