We Gotta Do Something

"Soo Bucky... Have you thought about asking out y/n yet?" Shuri asked Bucky as she worked on his arm.

"What are you talking about?"

"Oh don't pull that with me son. Don't try to act all macho like you don't know what I'm talking about. Your cheeks are about as red as Thor's cape." She put her hands on her hips grinning at him.

"Still don't know what you're talking about." He looked down hoping she wouldn't bother him anymore.

"Ugh fine. You can go know." She facepalmed as he walked away.

Shuri put up the equipment and went to find T'challa.

"Shuri, I see you fixed Bucky's arm." He smiled.

"Yes, but he still won't ask y/n out." Shuri pouted.

"Well that is the thing. As Steve said you can lead a horse to the water, but you can't get it to drink. Also you know y/n has never dated because she doesn't really care about anything of that sort." T'challa shrugged.

"But she likes him."

"Well she hasn't told me so."

"Well they're both stubborn, and it's complicated. However we gotta do something. They aren't even anywhere near the water. If we can get them to this figurative water, then maybe they'll work the rest out on their own."

T'challa sighed knowing there was no way to get out of this. He tried to walk away, but Shuri grabbed his hand and gave him the puppy eyes.

"Fine. I'll help you try to help you get them together."

"The sister brother team unite once again." She fist pumped the air.

"So how are we to do this?"

"Well we both know y/n isn't going to do anything, so we both have to target Bucky."

"But won't he know we're both trying to do something?" T'challa was confused.

"Fine. I'll try to convince Bucky, since I do it all the time. You my brother can suggest to y/n the idea of being with someone without mentioning Bucky."

"I suppose I'll try to help you."

"You're impossible." She punched him before walking away.

T'challa walked around trying to find you. He finally found you in the sun room. He walked up to you sitting across from you.

"Hello y/n."

"Hi T'challa." You said as you looked out the window.

"So...." T'challa froze. He just really didn't know how to do this scheming thing.

"So what?" You then looked to him slightly annoyed.

"So Nakia and I are going on a date. I've never been on a date, and well I need some help." That really wasn't a lie. He was going to be taking her out on a date soon, but he really didn't know what to do.

"Why ask me? I've never been on a date, and I really don't care."

"You don't? Why were you watching The Notebook, Me Before You, and Titanic last week?"

"I can watch those movies without wanting to have a romantic relationship with a man." You rolled your eyes.

"You are always so helpful. Why can't you be helpful now?" T'challa frowned, and you caved because he was like a brother to you.

"Fine. What do you want me to tell you?"

Somehow Bucky already messed up his arm again after accidentally putting a dent on the fridge handle.

Shuri began to fix his arm once again. She hoped all was going well with T'challa and you.

"Why are you so stubborn?" She blurted out.

"What?"

"Why can't you just admit that you like y/n?"

"Why can't you stop asking?" He frowned.

"Because you deserve to be happy."

"Look fine. I like her, but there's nothing I can do. She doesn't really like to be touched, and she doesn't really care to be in a relationship." He rested his head on his flesh hand.

"Who knows? Maybe she's just waiting for the right guy, and if she is, maybe you are that right guy."

Bucky just nodded as she continued to work on his arm.

"Just tell me what you look for in a guy, and then tell me what kind of date you'd want to go on."

"Why do you need to know what I look for in a guy? You're going on a date with Nakia, not me that would be gross."

"I know, but you and Nakia have similar interests, and I just thought I could get your advice."

"Well then, my advice is Nakia will like you for you. You don't need me to tell you what I expect."

This was not working as T'challa had hoped.

"Would you tell me anyway?"

"No, but I will tell you that you need a little more confidence." You laughed.

"It's not for me. It's for one of my friends."

"Hah. I'm not giving you information if you're just going to go off and tell it to someone I don't know."

"It's for Thor you know he hasn't been on Earth lately, and he's kind of forgotten what the ladies likes here." T'challa blurted.

"Well it depends on what lady he's trying to impress. It better not be me."

"No. I actually don't know; that's why I need you to just tell me what you like in a guy."

"Why didn't he just come and ask?"

T'challa was getting frustrated. He decided that you weren't going anywhere with this. He got up and left leaving you wondering what you said wrong.

"Maybe. I don't know Shuri." Bucky sighed as she finished his arm.

"At least try to spend more time with her." She patted his back. "You're good to go."

"Thanks... Mom." He rolled his eyes and went on his way.

T'challa meet with Shuri once again.

"Well?" She asked.

"You were right she's stubborn, and it's aggravating. I got no where with her."

"It's okay. It's going to take some time, but I did get to Bucky a little. He finally confessed he liked her. It's progress."

"Progress that you are going to have to manage on your own. I can't do this." T'challa declared walking away.

"Oh come on. T'challa..."
