XVIII. Vacation

Waiting for the meds to kick in like...

*Four years later*

"Hey mom, can Christian and I go outside and play with our cars?"

"Sure, but don't go too far off and stay where I can see the two of you."

"Don't worry, we will." Alex smiled as he grabbed ahold of Christian's hand and lead him upstairs

"Come on Chris, let's get your remote Tonka truck and we can play with that."

"Daddy wouldn't let me bring it."

"Well darn, okay then, we can take my old one instead," Alex said as he went rifling through his suitcase to find his remote truck

"Alright, I found it, go get one of your toys that you brought with you."

Christian scurried to his room and threw all of his clothes everywhere to find one of his trucks that he brought as Alex stood in the doorway waiting for him

"I gotta clean this up, or else moms gonna be mad at me," Christian said as Alex brushed it off

"Come back and clean it later, you'll have plenty of time to clean the room, but let's go play."

"Okay, fine." Christian got up from the floor and followed Alex down the hall to go outside

"Whoa! Where are you two-speed racers going?" Dominic said stepping from around the corner

"We're going outside to play with our toys, I already asked mom she said it was fine."

"Ok little bud, have fun and you my friend, don't wear yourself out too much or you won't be able to enjoy your birthday party later on." He said pointing to Christian

"I promise I won't." Christian smiled

"Alright, you two have fun." He said as they both ran outside with the biggest smiles on their faces

"How many presents do you think you got for your birthday?" Alex asked

"I don't know, I hope more than just one," Christian said as Alex laughed

"Well, of course, you're going to get more than one, I at least picked out four presents that I think you'd like."

"How many did you get on your fourth birthday?"

"I don't really remember the number, I do know it was a lot. Not just from mom and dad, but from other people too. One person got me a replica fighter plane, the ones that you can paint whatever you want on the plane, it was super cool."
