XXX. Sunday Morning

It was a sunny and beautiful Sunday morning, the weather was perfect and everything was quiet, as you could hear the birds chirping.

Michael rolled over on the bed and stretched his arm to feel for Katherine, but her side was cold and empty. He squinted his eyes open to see her side of the bed and then sat up once he heard the bathroom door open

"Good morning, honey. Did I wake you?" Katherine asked

"No, I was wondering where you were. Where are you going all dressed up for this morning?" He yawned as he laid back down

"I thought it would be nice to take the kids with me and we could go to church with my mom."

"Oh, that's nice. I'll see you when you get back." He said turning over and throwing the covers on himself

"Wouldn't you like to come too?"

"No thank you, I'm not really a religious person and it wouldn't do me any good, anyway."

"You sure? You'd rather spend your day in bed rather than be with your family? It's such a pretty day outside, you shouldn't waste it away sleeping."

He sighed, "Fine, I'll go, but as soon as we get back, I'm going back to sleep." He said lazily throwing the covers off of him

"Ok, that's fine."

An hour later, they had all gotten ready to leave as this would be the second time going back to Clarksville since her vacation, while the rest of the time Katherine calls her mom on the phone every day to check on her

"Mom, do you think grandma made some pecan pie, it would go really nice with some ice cream." Alex smiled

"Is that all you think about is food?"

"I would like some pecan pie with ice cream too." Christian chimed in

"How about you Bella, would you like some pie too?" Alex asked scooting towards Isabella as she looked at him and giggled while tiny droplets of drool came from her mouth

"See mommy, I'm not the only one that's thinking about food. Look at Bella, she's drooling because she knows grandma's pie is good."

"No, she's drooling because she's a baby and that's what baby's do."

"Ok, but the facts don't lie," Alex said scooting back in the seat

"So are we having pie or what?" Christian whispered to Alex

"Don't worry, I'll ask grandma before we leave, today I'm getting me some pie."

"Katherine, you made it and I see you brought everyone with you," Debra said as she waited outside for Katherine to show up

"Michael didn't plan on coming, but I talked him into it."

"Well, I'm glad you came and I'm happy to see all of you." She smiled as she gave everyone a hug
